A month has ed since Marvel's Avengers launched to mixed reviews. Even those that love the game can agree that it was a rough launch with tons of glitches and broken mechanics. However, the developers at Crystal Dynamics followed up on their promise, took player , and fixed many issues.
Marvel's Avengers does have its loyal players who look forward to the many content drops in the future. This has led to fans grinding and discovering all kinds of secrets and mechanics to pull off. One month later though, even the biggest fans of the game haven't discovered every secret in the game.
Secret Cache Rooms
To access hidden SHIELD vaults, players must find the SHIELD caches hidden throughout the regions. Inside each cache is a series of strongboxes containing loot and the key to a vault. Well, players are quick to grab the loot they see and leave but likely missed one or two hidden strongboxes.
As any character, the player can punch through certain walls in the SHIELD caches to unveil secret rooms containing even more loot.
Yeeting Taskmaster
It is taxing to fight Taskmaster clones with his photographic reflexes to complete the daily Villain Sector. Well, some players have discovered an exploit that makes the final fight with Taskmaster so much easier. If one or more players have gear with Pym Particle effects equipped, it can cause Taskmaster to shrink if done properly.
While shrunk and his guard broken, Hulk can grab Taskmaster and throw him off the edge of the map thus ending the fight. This can mainly be done in the Eastern Seaboard missions with the boss fight.
Auto-Equip Items
Going through each piece of gear after a long mission can be tedious. So if a player feels the need to skip the process and get to dismantling the junk; there is an option to hold down the left trigger and equip the highest power level item for all slots.
Granted, the game only goes off Power Level with this option so it could throw off the player's ratings for attributes. However, it's still an option for those not wanting to go through the inventory every single time. If only Destiny 2 had a similar feature.
Kamala Can Revive Teammates
While there are currently no alternate abilities to unlock for the Avengers, players can modify their abilities. Ms. Marvel AKA Kamala Khan's abilities are all great but her most useful ability is her Healing Spirit. In really tight situations (likely the result of Adaptoids), Kamala can instantly heal herself and allies.
Well, there is an even better use for this ability when modified. If all three teammates are down and Kamala is unable to reach them to revive them in person, her modified Healing Spirit does the job. This makes her the ultimate character in the game.
Comic Book Upgrades
One mistake a lot of players make when first playing the story involves the comic book. At first, collecting famous issues of Marvel Comics seems like a neat but pointless collect-athon in both the online and story modes. This is not the case.
The comic book issues all provide small upgrades to character stats. Only a few upgrades seem minuscule at first but when stacked over a period of time, those comics go a long way in upgrading the characters.
Reload At Checkpoints
Glitches and bugs plagued Marvel's Avengers at launch: some were downright game-breaking. One problem that tended to happen was characters would fall through the world forever. In some cases, this would cause the player to return to the beginning to the level unable to return to the party.
Even after the recent giant patch that fixed many issues, there is a small chance these glitches can happen. Believe it or not, there is a fix that many forget about. The pause button brings up the option to restart at the latest checkpoint; while it can be annoying to restart, it isn't too far back in the level most of the time and all side objectives are still accomplished.
Captain America's Shield Charge
The Star-Spangled Man with a plan has his trusty vibranium shield to wipe out hordes of enemies with ease. It also provides a good defense when overwhelmed and low on health. With the pull of the right trigger, Captain America is safe from a lot of attacks.
Well, players wanting to deal damage while deflecting damage will be pleased. Running forward towards enemies, Captain America can bash them with his shield while remaining protected. It isn't a lot of damage but at least it is something.
Additional Dialogue
One of the biggest praises gamers all over gave Marvel's Avengers was the writing and performances of the titular heroes. Actors like Troy Baker and Nolan North went all out in making each character their own rather than imitate what the Marvel Cinematic Universe actors did.
There is a ton of more dialogue between characters after the story. Obviously, players can interact with them on the Helicarrier on command. However, the better dialogue comes if the player remains idle by an Avenger. Even more dialogue can be found if the player interacts with a certain Avenger in their private rooms.
Instant Takedowns
Some enemies in Marvel's Avengers are pure rage-inducing. These include the many forms of Adaptoids and Prime Synthoids. They have ridiculous health and attack damage, even after the big update for them. So, for every player suffering at the hands of these enemies, there is an exploit.
If Adaptoids (or any bipedal enemy) are in a room upon arrival and the player's presence is not known? The player can perform an instant takedown and eliminate Adaptoids without needing to lower their health and it is satisfying.
Other Characters Can Use Hulkbuster
Fun and practicality combined: Tony Stark can summon his massive Hulkbuster armor to deal massive damage and instantly heal up. Well, this ability can also be used to buff other players. Instead of tapping the two shoulder buttons, hold them down to aim where the armor will spawn.
This can allow any other teammate to hop onto the platform and wield Hulkbuster in all its mechanized glory. It's a good alternative if there is no Kamala to heal another player or just for fun with teammates.
