Marvel is interested in its characters appearing in sured the entire lifetime sales of the Nintendo Wii U.
When it comes to characters appearing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, there are all kinds of rumors, "leaks," and theories. Not too long ago, aNintendo's E3 presentation.
In an interview with Game Informer, Marvel Games VP and creative director Bill Rosemann was asked about the possibility of Marvel characters appearing in Super Smash Bros. It seems Rosemann would be all for it, but ultimately, the decision isn't up to him. "Well I mean, I can imagine anything," said Rosemann. "Hawkeye standing next to Link, and both shooting some arrows… I mean anything could happen, but I’m not the person that makes decisions such as that."
Fans would certainly be happy at the prospect of seeing their favorite Marvel characters alongside the Super Smash Bros. icons. The idea of Spider-Man slinging alongside a jumping Mario is sure to bring a smile to anyone. Of course, while Rosemann says "anything could happen," there's not too big of a chance, based on Super Smash Bros. history. Masahiro Sakurai, the creator and developer of every Super Smash Bros. game to date, has kept the roster to characters who belong to video games. Characters from non-video game properties don't seem likely. Goku from Dragon Ball has always been a popular vote, but Sakurai has continually denied the possibility. But, anything is possible in the world of pop culture. Godzilla did meet the Avengers once, after all.
Nintendo and Marvel have a good working relationship as well. Currently, both companies are hard at work bringing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order to Nintendo Switch. Unlike previous games in the series, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 is a Nintendo exclusive. Time will tell if Marvel characters will ever make their way into Super Smash Bros. For now, mods exist to make that dream a reality.
