Family is such an important aspect of Marvel Comics. The conflicts and emotional arcs amongst these villainous and heroic families drive the narratives forward. Indeed, many of these familial relations have made their way onto screen in the MCU and beyond, to help flesh out the characters further.

However, both hardcore fans and casual audiences alike aren't aware of all the different connections that exist amongst Marvel's famous characters. Sometimes these relationships have been hidden for a long time and other times the characters have been kept apart for so long that it's easy to forget that there's a link there at all.

Honorable Mention: Deadpool And Dracula

Deadpool Vs Dracula In Marvel

There is such a thing as a step-husband; that is the current husband of the individual's ex-partner. For Deadpool, he was once married to Shiklah, who had a real love for his bloody ways, until he took a less violent path that is.

The pair would divorce and Shiklah would instead marry Dracula. Deadpool and the iconic Vampire, therefore, have the strange relationship of being step-husbands, something that neither really take too kindly to. It seems unlikely that his arrival into the MCU will include this storyline, but anything is possible.

Psylocke And Captain Britain

The Braddock Twins Fighting Over Captain Britain

Captain Britain is one of the most prominent heroes in Europe. Brian Braddock has been a valiant warrior for many years and has been linked to both the X-Men and the group known as Excalibur. It's often overlooked that he has a twin sister!

Elizbeth Braddock is the sibling of Captain Britain and has taken on the same mantle in the past. She will be most well known as Psylocke though, a member of the X-Men in her own right and a powerful mutant with telekinetic abilities.

Vision And The Grim Reaper

The Grim Reaper has captured Vision and Wonder Man as Scarlet Witch looks on in Marvel Comics.

There are multiple versions of the Vision across comic book history that differ from what's presented in the MCU. The origin of the Vision in the comics is heavily linked to Wonder Man or Simon Williams as he is known. Williams' personality and consciousness actually forms a part of the Vision himself.

Wonder Man's brother is the villainous Grim Reaper, Eric Williams. In Vision's own family tree, therefore, Grim Reaper is also considered to be his brother. WandaVision recently made reference to the connection in one of their animated opening sequences.

Iron Lad And The Richards

Kang The Conqueror From Marvel

Speaking of big-screen debuts, the famous Avengers villain Kang The Conqueror will be making his own first appearance in Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania, the third installment of the trilogy. In the comics, Kang is actually a descendent of Reed Richards and his family, with his original name being Nathanial Richards.

Young Avengers readers will be familiar with the character Iron Lad, who is an alternate, futuristic version of Kang The Conqueror. That means that Iron Lad is actually a relative of Reed Richards and the Fantastic Four, technically hailing from the Earth-6133 version of reality.

Mystique, Azazel And Nightcrawler

Azazel Vs Nightcrawler Marvel

Mystique, Azazel, and Nightcrawler are some of the most famous Mutants in the Marvel Universe, but few people know that all three are actually linked to one another. Indeed, Mystique and Azazel have a brief romance and consequently have a child.

Nightcrawler is that child, taking his blue skin from his mother and his teleportation abilities and tail from his father. Nightcrawler actually has a number of other siblings as well, including Graydon Creed, Kiwi Black, and Abyss.

The Nick Fury-s

Nick Fury Sr and Jr hanging together

There are actually two Nick Furys in the Marvel Universe. While mainstream audiences might be more aware of the modern Fury, originally based on Samuel L. Jackson and created as part of the Ultimate Comics, there was also an earlier version who led the Howling Commandos.

In order to modernize the comics and bring the Nick Fury on the page closer to the screen, Marvel wrote the original Nick Fury a son. Nick Fury Jr. is the current version of the character, while Nick Fury Sr. is now known as The Unseen and is being punished by the Watchers of the Universe; a plot the MCU series could play into.

The Maximoff Twins And Polaris

Polaris fighting Quicksilver Marvel

It's common knowledge that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are the son and daughter of Magneto in multiple portrayals of the characters. In some other versions, including the mainline Earth-616, Magneto has another daughter who grows up to be Polaris.

Polaris inherits most of her father's powers and could even be seen to be stronger than Magneto. While there are very few interactions between the family, Lorna is in fact the sister of Wanda and Pietro. With Quicksilver seemingly gone from the MCU perhaps Polaris could be brought in as a new sibling to Scarlet Witch.

Hulking And Captain Marvel

The Young AVenger Hulking in Marvel's Empyre

Hulking has been a significant member of the Young Avengers and has become the focal point of the Empyre storyline. Hulking's lineage is notable as he comes from both Kree and Skrull family lines. This makes him an extremely unique character, considering these empires are constantly at war with one another.

What's more, the father of Hulking is actually the original Captain Marvel, the Kree known as Mar-Vell. Hulking has royal blood with his mother being Anelle, the princess of the Skrull Empire. His family history informs a huge part of the character and his current role in the Marvel Universe.

Gamora And The Black Order

The Black Order get ready to battle in Marvel Comics

Gamora and Nebula are the adopted daughters of Thanos, but one of the things that the MCU leaves out about the Black Order is that they have also been adopted by the Mad Titan. In the comics, Thanos has a number of children including Zorr The Conqueror (who may have actually been his son-in-law) and Thane the Inhuman.

The Black Order, which consists of Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight, Black Dwarf, and Supergiant, originally, were all siblings of Gamora and Nebula. Not all of the since were adopted by Thanos.

Vulcan And Cyclops

Cyclops' brother Vulcan in Marvel

Cyclops has quite a complex family. His son Nathan Summers, for instance, eventually turns out to be the hero, Cable. Meanwhile, Hope Summers has a more powerful set of abilities than even her mother Jean Grey-Summers. Even Cyclops' brother, Havok is well-documented.

Gabriel Summers is actually the brother of Havok and Cyclops and goes by the name of Vulcan. He grew up as part of the Shi'ar Empire and has been both an ally to the X-Men and an enemy. He is as much linked to Earth as he is the galaxies beyond and Cyclops certainly has a difficult relationship with him.
