If there's something any fan loves to see in movies, it's their favorite characters coming together and meeting. In recent years, this has become more and more of a reality with cinematic universes like the MCU, who are entering their fourth phase in the coming years.
While there are numerous pairings of heroes, from street level to galaxy defenders that fans would love to see happen, there are some pairings of characters that many do not want to see happen. As such, here are five MCU characters who need to meet and five who definitely shouldn't meet in phase 4.
Need To: Black Panther And Thor
While many MCU characters have either seen or run across one another due to crossover flicks like Endgame, they were very brief meetings, with barley any exchange or even acknowledgment of either hero.
While Thor and Black Panther have met before on the battlefield of both Wakanda and the Avengers compound, neither king has really had a real meeting. The idea of both of these kings meeting and perhaps going on an adventure is something many fans would love to see rather than a brief exchange.
Don't: Ghost And Zemo
Probably the most dangerous career choice anyone can make in the MCU is that of a villain. Villains are without a doubt the characters who have it the worst, with very few surviving to the end of their film. As it is, the few surviving villains should in fact never meet.
Zemo and Ghost are two such examples, two villainous characters, although Ghost has become more of an anti-hero, who shouldn't meet. It's simply just that they aren't the best fit for one another, despite being villains.
Need To: Captain Marvel And The Guardians Of The Galaxy
For a great deal of the MCU, the films have mainly been focused on either story's set on earth, with films like Captain Marvel.
The idea of these two space-oriented entities meeting would be a joy for many fans if it became a reality, with the serious Carol Danvers protecting the galaxy with the laidback Guardians. It could even set the stage for the arrival of Carol's own space team, Alpha Flight.
Don't: Ant-Man And The Guardians Of The Galaxy
There's an idiom that goes "too many cooks in the kitchen." Essentially, this idiom means that sometimes, more is not always the best. In some cases, more comedy can help a movie but for a comedic duo like the Guardians and Ant-man, it wouldn't.
Both characters have a great amount of comedy and laugh between them and while many would love to see them team-up, it would simply be too many jokes for one movie. Each character would need to sell or tell a joke, making for one crowded kitchen.
Need To: Korg And Luis
Something that makes a lot of Marvel movies enjoyable and memorable comes not just from the main characters but from the side characters brought along for the ride and probably the best side characters in the MCU are Korg and Luis.
The very thought of these two wonderfully funny characters meeting is enough to make anyone smile. From Korg's calm and relaxed demeanor to Luis's fast-talking and over-explaining attitude, the pair would be a force worthy of Thanos if he ever returned and would make for one great spin-off.
Don't: Lady Sif And Valkyrie
When Taikai Waitti took Thor: Ragnorok, he ended up changing most of what had been established in the previous films. One character, Lady Sif, is said to have survived the events of the third film while many others were killed.
That being said, she is also a character that we shouldn't see interact with someone like Valkyrie. Taking away the old and bland characters like the warriors three was a smart move on Taikais part, paving the way for cool and interesting characters such as Valkyrie.
Need To: Doctor Strange And Scarlet Witch
There are many rumors and ideas swirling around Marvel's phase four. A great deal of these rumors has yet to be confirmed, such as the X-Men's or Fantastic Four's inclusions, while others have, such as the eventual meeting between Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch.
It was only a matter of time before these two masters of magic finally crossed paths and yet it's one fans have been waiting for. Now only time and audiences imaginations will tell when and how the pair will connect and what will happen between them.
Don't: Loki And Scarlet Witch
A lot of the time in movies, opposites tend to attract, with funny and serious going hand in hand. However, sometimes, opposites shouldn't attract for good reasons, such as the opposites of the Scarlet Witch and Loki.
While the pair have similarities, such as being villains or antagonists turned heroes, they still share a great number of opposites, such as one embracing the darkness while the other fearing it. Neither should meet as they would be a terrible influence on one another.
Need To: Spider-Man And Shuri
Everyone has their own favorite super-hero. Whether that be a well-known crime fighter or someone so obscure only the fan knows who they are, everyone has a personal favorite that they would love to see meet with another favorite.
The favorites in question are Spider-Man and Shuri, two fan favorites characters that anyone would love to see finally meet and connect. Fans can already imagine the pair tossing jokes and pop culture references back and forth while comparing notes on tech, making for a match made in heaven.
Don't: Falcon And Captain Marvel
When phase 3 of the MCU ended, the future of the Avengers was somewhat up in the air, with multiple heroes in line to head a new team. At the time, it appears as though leadership status will fall to Falcon as the new Captain America and Captain Marvel.
However, these two characters shouldn't even be on the same team. While Falcon definitely belongs on the Avengers and even deserves to lead them, Marvel's place belongs in the stars, defending the galaxy from extraterrestrial threats that may threaten Earth.
