Announced at New York Comic Con 2024 and confirmed by Marvel Comics, street-level heroines come together in the new anthology Women of Marvel: She-Devils #1 - by Stephanie Phillips, Alison Sampson, with more talent to be revealed. Nina Vakueva’s cover beautifully shows off some of the iconic heroes that will assemble in the one-shot.

Marvel has consistently featured some of the best female characters in comics, and they will take center stage in this brand-new issue, which promises to be an “interconnected saga”. Connecting an international team of allies for a grounded superhero story, the anthology promises to raise hell.

Though more characters could still be revealed as the one-shot gears up for release in February 2025, Nina Vakueva’s cover gives a glimpse at some of the main heroes that can be expected in the anthology story. As Marvel’s details confirm that street-level heroines will be highlighted, heroes like Daredevil and Echo are featured. Elektra currently holds the Daredevil mantle, and has fully transitioned from anti-hero to superhero, now also in the Astonishing Avengers lineup. Laura Kinney’s vigilante Wolverine, hot off of NYX, and soon to get her own solo title, and Black Widow are more grounded additions to She-Devils.

Another interesting addition to the She-Devils is Brielle Brooks, aka Bloodline, the daughter of Blade. After taking on a more prominent role in Summer 2024’s vampire crossover event Blood Hunt, Brielle will carve out her own space in the Marvel Universe apart from her father. Alongside some of Marvel’s most iconic street-level heroes, the fairly new character Bloodline’s vampiric abilities make her one of the strongest and most fantastical figures of this new lineup. However, it seems that a character that debuted back in 1972 will be taking the lead position for what could be a new major Marvel team.
