Netmarble's Marvel Future Revolution, the sequel to its successful Marvel Future Fight, promises massive 3D online action for mobile players looking to dive deep into the Marvel multiverse. The new title expands the world of Future Fight with brand new gameplay, full 3D exploration, ambitious multiplayer modes, and a roster of highly-customizable heroes for players to level up.
The story of Marvel Future Revolution, written by Marc Sumerak, explores the aftermath of "The Convergence," an interdimensional calamity that sees multiple universes crossing over. Marvel's greatest heroes must unite to undo this event, restoring the multiverse to its proper state while protecting Earth from threats like an Earth where Hydra won World War II and took over the planet, or an Earth where the Nova Corps were decimated by Thanos. This unique setting allows the game to feature any version of any character from Marvel's history, including alternate universe counterparts like Captain Hydra.
At launch, Marvel Future Revolution will feature eight different heroes for players to choose: Captain America, Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Storm, Star-Lord, Doctor Strange, Black Widow, and Spider-Man. Each of these characters can be fully customized with a wide variety of modular costumes that can be mixed and matched, ensuring no two players will have identical heroes, even when playing as the same character.
While some prospective players might be skeptical over the relatively small roster of characters, Netmarble aims to the title for years to come. Like any mobile multiplayer game worth its salt, Marvel Future Revolution promises to add content post-launch, in the form of new heroes, levels, and more. Based on what we've seen so far, the game already includes a bunch of A-Tier villains to serve as bosses, including Thanos, Ultron, Red Skull, Kingpin, and Loki, so Future Revolution already looks like a more content-rich adventure than its divisive console counterpart, Marvel's Avengers. The story can be played either solo or online with friends, and the game features a slew of multiplayer modes, from traditional PvE co-op to Omega War, a chaotic 10v10 PvP deathmatch. There's also Dark Zone, a massive 50 player free-for-all mode with plenty of rewards available to players willing to fight for them.
Netmarble has proven itself with Marvel Future Fight, which continues to serve as a major draw for players looking for a high-quality Marvel mobile action RPG experience. Marvel Future Revolution aims to be the next evolution for the formula, with a fully 3D presentation, more customization, and deeper gameplay for each of the heroes. There are still questions about the title, like a concrete release date and how exactly Netmarble aims to monetize the experience, but that will all be cleared up with time. For now, pre-registration for Android and iOS opens today, June 29.
