The Ms. Marvel is seizing fans’ attention and hearts by showing Kamala Khan’s unorthodox approach to heroics mixed with invigorating energy and visuals.

Up next is She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, and many more. The MCU is making no plans at stopping anytime soon and while there are still some major players from the comics yet to be officially introduced – X-Men and the Fantastic Four for example – they should consider bringing in some of these more obscure or weird heroes too.

Squirrel Girl

Unbeatable Squirrel Girl 1 Variant in Marvel Comics

One of the weirdest characters in Marvel comics does have a dedicated fan base, but she still hasn’t permeated to recognition by the general public. Many people would likely be surprised to hear there is a hero called Squirrel Girl, and even more so that she would be a great addition to the MCU.

Doreen Allene Green aka Squirrel Girl is a young hero characterized by her giant squirrel tail, squirrel-like abilities, and plucky attitude. She’s been featured as an Avenger in the comics and has a history in animation in the Marvel Rising series, voiced by Milana Vayntrub. Vayntrub was also set to star in the live-action debut for Squirrel Girl in Marvel’s New Warriors, but that never got picked up – perhaps the MCU can bring her back from the ashes.

Man-Thing

Man Thing Featured

In some ways, Moon Knight nudged open the door to the vast multiversal possibilities of Marvel horror, so the MCU should continue the trend and introduce Man-Thing. Dr. Ted Sallis was a young biochemist who was attempting to replicate the super-soldier serum that created Captain America when an emergency forced him to take it himself, but he was transformed into the powerful plant-like monster, Man-Thing.

Man-Thing is incredibly important to the foundations of the comics as he protects the Nexus of All Realities, the cross-dimensional pathways connecting everything everywhere. The opportunity to introduce him is in the Werewolf by Night Halloween Special starring Gael García Bernal.  Otherwise, fans will have to wait a while – unless, he’s getting his own Disney+ series.

Quasar

Quasar Wendell Vaughn

Some of the most underrated heroes are also some of the most powerful in the universe, which is what might make their entrances into the MCU more difficult than other characters. That seems to be the case for Wendell Vaughn aka Quasar, a lowly SHIELD agent turned cosmic superhero. He gains his powers through the Quantum Bands, weapons created by the being Eon.

There’s been Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Blue Marvel

Blue Marvel

The The Marvels in honor of the fact that it will also feature Monica Rambeau – who was actually Captain Marvel in the comics before Carol Danvers – and Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel. That might not be the end to it and there several other Marvels who could be introduced, including the popular Adam Brashear aka Blue Marvel.

In his story, he partook in an experiment in the 1960s trying to connect to the Negative Zone, which naturally malfunctioned and gave him incredible powers, including control over anti-matter and nigh invulnerability. He then fought crime as Blue Marvel until President Kennedy forced him to retire since the world was not ready for a Black superhero. He spent the next nearly-50 years in-universe in retired isolation, but Blue Marvel did return to becoming a full superhero and member of the Ultimates alongside Captain Marvel.

Ka-Zar

Ka-Zar Lord of Savage Land

During the moment when Doctor Strange and America Chavez fall through the multiverse in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there are some storied locations from the comics, including Savage Land. This is the secret tropical preserve beneath Antarctica, home to dinosaurs and characters like Ka-Zar, Shanna, Zabu, Sauron, and more.

Ka-Zar was born Kevin Plunder. His father had discovered Savage Land, but he and Kevin’s mother were quickly killed by the native inhabitants. Kevin was then raised by Zabu the sabertooth tiger, and he became the land’s protector, which brought him into conflict with any outsider who visited, heroes and villains alike. Naturally, he did make allies like the X-Men and Spider-Man and if anyone ever ventures to the Savage Land, Ka-Zar and Zabu are sure to appear.

Songbird

Marvel's Songbird

Recently it was announced that a there are several intended , including Yelena Belova and Baron Zemo, but it is also a great opportunity to introduce a new character, such as Songbird.

She was originally known as Screaming Mimi, a villain with supersonic abilities, but she took the opportunity to rebrand as Songbird. Of the Thunderbolts, she was the one who most gravitated to this new role as a hero, and has since ed the Might Avengers. Although she has been part of some great storylines, she still doesn’t have the larger base of recognition, often getting overshadowed by different characters, so including her in Thunderbolts would be a wise decision.

Brother Voodoo

Doctor Voodoo using his magical powers.

While Doctor Strange might be most widely regarded as the best sorcerer, there have actually been several times that he was unseated and replaced as Sorcerer Supreme. One such hero to do so was Jericho Drumm aka Brother Voodoo. He gains his mastery over the mystic arts and voodoo, training under his father. He then uses his powers to help his home country, Haiti, while also becoming an ally to heroes like Moon Knight, Black Panther, and Doctor Strange.

He already has a link into the franchise as his twin brother, Daniel Drumm, was featured in Doctor Strange, played by Marc Anthony Brighton. He was the protector of the New York Sanctum killed by Kaecillius. His death is actually the catalyst for Jericho to take up voodoo and sorcery, and Daniel’s spirit is linked to his brother’s body. Therefore, he could definitely become a new and prominent feature in continuing to explore the MCU’s supernatural side.

Nomad

Jack Monroe standing with cards flying in front of him.

Although Steve Roger’s time in the MCU is seemingly over, there are still some great Captain America characters who should be introduced into the franchise, including Jack Monroe aka Nomad. Steve actually used the moniker first – hoping to escape the notoriety of being Captain America to fight crime on a street level. Jack Monroe, however, became the more well-known Nomad as his right-hand man.

He fulfilled the traditional Bucky Barnes role after his death – and before his return as the Winter Soldier. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Nomad would be a great addition. Since Sam Wilson has his friend Joaquín Torres, perhaps Jack Monroe could help out Bucky.

Alpha Flight

Alpha Flight Team from Marvel Comics

Thunderbolts marks an important moment in the MCU as it was just one of the many great teams yet to be introduced into the franchise. Another such group is Alpha Flight. They are the Canadian equivalent of the Avengers, made up of many powerful heroes. The roster has included Northstar – the first openly gay comics character – and Aurora; Guardian, Sasquatch, Snowbird and even Wolverine at one point.

There is one major obstacle currently blocking many of these characters’ introductions and that is the fact that many are mutants. So far, they haven’t been officially incorporated into the main continuity. However, when they are, they could introduce Alpha Flight.

Jack of Hearts

Jack of Hearts using his powers in Marvel Comics

Some heroes haven’t gotten recognition from the general public like others because their premises, origins, and powers are too convoluted. That might be the case for Jack of Hearts, though that shouldn’t limit his involvement in the MCU. Jack Hart was exposed to a substance called Zero Fluid and he gained powerful concussive powers, but he couldn’t control them.

Jack decided to fashion himself a suit resembling the Jack of Hearts playing card, and thus he became Jack of Hearts. He was a member of the Avengers and the Defenders for some time. However, his powers became too much to contain, and choosing not to endanger others, he flew into space and exploded. As is natural for comic book characters, Jack of Hearts did return, but to disastrous consequences, as he accidentally caused an explosion that killed Scott Lang aka Ant-Man.
