Thanos met his fate in Marvel Cinematic Universe might not be over with him yet, and he will keep influencing the MCU’s Phase 5. The superhero genre has gained a lot of force in the last decade, and the MCU has contributed in big part to that success. Thanos and his armies were finally defeated in Nova movie is reportedly in the works – and in order to tell his story, the MCU would have to go back to Infinity War and the destruction of the Nova Corps, of which Thanos was responsible.

In the comics, killed every member as well as half of the population of Xandar. This means that Nova’s story will be inevitably linked to Thanos, and so Phase 5 can’t really escape the Mad Titan yet.

Of course, Thanos played a very important part in the history of the MCU, but with this universe now dealing with other concepts (such as the multiverse and its madness) and introducing new characters, it feels redundant and even tiring to go back to Thanos in the near future, no matter how necessary it is to the story. Hopefully, if the Nova movie really is to happen, Thanos and Avengers: Infinity War will only be there to explain that specific part of Nova’s story, and it won’t depend on them in its entirety.
