Marvel Rivals has taken the hero shooter world by storm in the past few weeks, offering a wide variety of iconic characters. While Marvel Rivals has an excellent array of skins, they're fairly expensive when purchased individually, being best unlocked through the considerably cheaper battle or future sales. Thankfully for fans, players have started making their own mods which range from comedic additions to fantastic lore-friendly skins.
While mods aren't officially ed by Marvel Rivals' developers, there have been no recorded cases of anyone having been banned for using them just yet. Despite this current flexibility, there's no telling if or when Marvel Rivals will clamp down on the use of client-side mods, so players should only use them at their own risk. Even without the use of mods, Marvel Rivals still has plenty of fantastic character skins, but it's hard to ignore the best fan contributions out there.
10 Embracing The Dark Side Of Moon Knight
Providing A Clean Look For One Of Marvel Rivals' Darkest Heroes
Even though this is one of the simpler skin mods available for Marvel Rivals so far, the Dark Moon Knight mod on Nexus by Karmigula has a striking appearance that is hard to beat. While Moon Knight's white outfit is one of the hallmarks of his identity, it's great to see a more unique take on the legendary character's appearance. Seeing this caped hero dressed in all black also bears a striking similarity to DC's Dark Knight himself, letting players imagine themselves as the caped crusader without needing a full model swap.
A more unique take on the legendary character's appearance.
According to Karmigula's posts on Nexus, they aren't finished with Moon Knight skins either, as the modder has also expressed interest in delivering a blend of both white and black cloaks in the future. While this updated mod is an interesting prospect to keep an eye out for, they've also made some adjustments to the Mister Knight skin to make it more comic-accurate as well.
9 A Demonic Makeover For Jeff The Shark
Chainsaw Man's Pochita Is The Perfect Fit For A Jeff Skin
While it's hard to imagine a character as small as Pochita going up against the world's mightiest heroes, strongest strategist characters, he's by far one of the most fun thanks to the satisfying team-wiping potential of his ultimate. This level of character consumption fits even better with Pochita, giving players the same abilities while looking ever cuter than before.

Marvel Rivals Player Shares Strategies That Can Help Others Counter Jeff The Land Sharks Ultimate
Jeff the Land Shark has been the talk of the town since the launch of Marvel Rivals, but this player's strategies might help combat his ultimate.
Given that many players in the community have already started demonizing Jeff based on his ability to kill both enemies and his teammates at once, the Chainsaw Devil makes the most sense for a skin. Players can also choose between different variations of this Pochita skin as well, with one of them simply adding the chainsaw head while giving Jeff the iconic gray color of a regular shark.
8 Taking To The Skies With Vegeta As Iron Man
Taking To The Skies With The Power Of A Super Saiyan
While Iron Man doesn't have the devastating melee prowess of a Saiyan, the Vegeta skin by Leonaura on Nexus Mods still offers a great fit between abilities and style. Iron Man's chest beam looks strikingly similar to Dragon Ball Z's Kamehameha, with this skin letting players live out their dreams of a Dragon Ball-inspired hero shooter. Similar to the Jeff skin, this mod also gives players a few options when it comes to changing Vegeta's appearance, with Super Saiyan variations available as well.
Iron Man's chest beam looks strikingly similar to Dragon Ball Z's Kamehameha.
Where this skin truly shines is during Iron Man's empowered ability state, letting them unleash an even stronger chest laser on top of sending out a barrage of AoE energy blasts.
7 Big Smoke And CJ The Multiverse Once More
One Of The Most Popular Crossover Characters To This Day
Even decades after the release of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, CJ, and Big Smoke seem to be finding their way into more games than ever thanks to fan mods. Nexus Leonaura is keeping this tradition alive and well by faithfully importing CJ and Big Smoke's updated models in Marvel Rivals, letting players unleash the power of the Grove Street Families.
From reimagining Kratos as CJ, letting him explore Hogwarts, or being trapped in the world of Silent Hill, the world of Marvel is only the most recent step on their multiversal journey thanks to dedicated fans.
Unleash the power of the Grove Street Families.
Given The Winter Soldier is a duelist with some of the highest damage potential in Marvel Rivals, thanks to his unique abilities, players will get a good amount of use out of this skin mod. While the two may not be the most lore-friendly additions, it's always amusing to see Earth's mightiest heroes or other supernatural threats getting vanquished by these iconic gangsters.
6 Bridging Franchises With The DC Character Pack
Adding Some Of The Most Popular DC Characters To Marvel Rivals
Thanks to ToastedShoes on Nexus Mods, DC fans won't have to feel left out by the success of Marvel Rivals. Not only does the DC character pack add over 10 DC characters to Marvel Rivals, but it also provides a great thematic fit into each of the base characters. While some of the included characters like Krypto look a bit terrifying on closer inspection, this all-in-one mod is a fantastic place to start for trying out custom character skins.
The DC character pack is also one of the most popular mods available by far. Given the similarities between many Marvel and DC superheroes, it's little surprise that many skins fit almost perfectly with existing characters in Marvel Rivals as well.
5 Racking Up A Kill Quota With The Lethal Company Employee
A Surprisingly Detailed Mod For Iron Fist
The hit indie game Lethal Company is far from the first game players might expect from a Marvel Rivals collaboration, but Nexus HallowSL brought the idea to life in the best way possible. Not only does this mod look fantastic when paired with Iron Fist's gorgeous in-game animations, but the level of detail of the model itself is a massive upgrade from the indie game.
It's only a shame these powers can't be put to use in Lethal Company itself, as it might increase the odds of surviving against the deadly and horrifying enemies lurking in each facility.
One of the more exciting duelists to play in Marvel Rivals.
With Iron Fist being one of the more exciting duelists to play in Marvel Rivals, it makes sense why so many mods are based around the popular character. While there's some confusion among fans over Marvel Rivals' choice to use Lin Lie instead of the original Danny Rand Iron Fist, comedic mods like this can help make up for his absence.
4 Taking Revenge On Duelists With A Jeff-Themed Iron Fist
Shark Themed Vengeance Has Never Felt More Satisfying
After countless matches of being targeted by duelists in the backline, Jeff the Shark can finally have his revenge thanks to a mod by ChitoseHaruhi on Nexus. The most notable aspect of this skin is how amusing Jeff's proportions look when stretched over the drastically different Iron Fist model, striking just as much fear into the player as their enemies thanks to its strange apperance.

Marvel Rivals Characters You Should Be Using To Steal Objectives
Winning objectives is more important than kills in Marvel Rivals. Several abilities will let you get right to the goal without even fighting.
While an Iron Fist with an adorable head might not be the most intimidating enemy to face, it offers plenty of therapeutic effects for frustrated Jeff mains. Even with a simple skin-swapping concept, the sheer hilarity of Jeff the Shark's elongated limbs makes for an endlessly amusing sight when dispatching enemies, whether they're fellow s or dastardly duelists.
3 Giving Spider-Man One Of His Most Iconic Suits
Venom Isn't The Only Symbiote In Marvel Rivals
One of the most shocking absences in Marvel Rivals was the lack of a true symbiote suit for Spider-Man, which has thankfully been added by modders like Cykal455 on Nexus, alongside a few others. Peter looks even better than ever with his iconic venom-infused outfit in Marvel Rivals, letting players embrace the darker side of Spider-Man's past identity. While there's a chance Marvel Rivals may add a symbiote-inspired suit for Spider-Man in the future, there's one major reason why it might never make an official appearance in-game.
Player mods may be the only way to experience this iconic crossover.
Given the competitive nature of Marvel Rivals, a symbiote Spider-Man might share too many visual similarities to the existing Venom, causing confusion during combat. While Spider-Man and Venom are both clearly distinct in-game thanks to Marvel Rivals' expressive art style and character proportions, player mods may be the only way to experience this iconic crossover.
2 Overwatch 2 Character Skins Fit Shockingly Well In Marvel Rivals
Providing Excellent Counterparts To Certain Hero Models
Marvel Rivals has already been compared to the controversial but trend-setting Overwatch plenty of times, but another character skin pack by ToastedShoes on Nexus finally combines the two competing shooters. Watching the MVP animations helps the Overwatch skins shine the most, with some of them being even cooler representations than Overwatch thanks to their higher quality animations and particle effects, at the cost of having less variety.

These Marvel Rivals Stats Should Be A Wake Up Call
Marvel Rivals players have been experiencing some issues with team composition. These new stats about the game should be a good clue how to fix it.
While Overwatch still has a moderately dedicated fanbase to this day, a lot of their decisions have pushed many fans to the newly promising Marvel Rivals instead. This mod is especially great for Overwatch fans who aren't ready to fully give up on their favorite characters, keeping the beloved heroes alive by porting them to the new world offered by Marvel Rivals.
Even after the amusement of seeing Overwatch characters imported into Marvel Rivals wears off, the characters themselves feel just as well, and if not even better than the DC counterparts from ToastedShoes' previous mod. From Peni Parker and Diva, Widowmaker and Black Widow, to Pharah and Iron Man, the models fit almost perfectly within the world of Marvel Rivals.
1 The Valiant Bulwark From Space Marine 2
Providing A Terrifying Presence On Any Battlefield
While Warhammer has a more niche following when compared to Overwatch or DC skin swaps, the sheer detail of swqsx3's Vitrix Guard mod for Captain America on Nexus puts it above the rest. Being praised by Nexus s for its close attention to detail, this high-fidelity skin lets players embrace the glory of the Emperor in stunning fashion.
Fans of Space Marine 2 will have a blast defeating aliens and sorcerers in the world of Marvel, with hopes for more classes to be added in a future mod release, as the Assault class would make a fantastic addition for a character like The Winter Soldier.
This high-fidelity skin lets players embrace the glory of the Emperor in stunning fashion.
The only downside to this skin is the lack of iconic voice lines from Space Marine 2 or other Warhammer games, on top of being limited to one of the weaker tanks in the game currently. While Captain America is likely to receive buffs in the future to make him a more viable character to play, in his current state he's surprisingly one of the less-played tanks even with his role as one of the primary faces for Marvel.
While modded skins are a great alternative for players who simply want to experiment with new designs or crossovers, there are still plenty of free skins for players to unlock during their time in Marvel Rivals.
