Among Duelist characters, Hela is perhaps the strongest due to her powerful abilities in Marvel Rivals as of this time of writing. The goddess of Death and sibling of Thor and Loki, Hela deals tons of damage to enemies with attacks that can almost one-shot some foes. With absurd DPS, an immobilizing skill, and surprising mobility, Hela is a versatile character who can succeed in nearly any team.
Duelist characters are low-health, high-DPS heroes and villains who help their team score eliminations. Unlike ive Strategists or defensive Vanguards, the number of Duelists on your team usually affects your group's team comp in Marvel Rivals the most. Too many Duelists will leave your team vulnerable to defeat, so having strong ones like Hela can help your allies if you understand how to use her abilities.

Strike Down Opponents Swiftly
Hela has a relatively straightforward set of tools that make up her abilities in Marvel Rivals. Most of Hela's abilities are designed to help her score fast eliminations, especially on weaker characters from an enemy team. Targeting enemy Duelists or Strategists will help Hela with this goal, but only when you use specific skills to pin down opponents and make them easier to take out.

Marvel Rivals: Every Vanguard Character, Ranked From Weakest To Strongest

Nightsword Thorns deal some of the highest damage in the game, especially when they land headshots against enemies. One or two of these attacks landing critically against an opponent can take out low-health enemies, such as Luna Snow or Adam Warlock in Marvel Rivals.
Hela's Soul Drainer ability can stun some characters out of their Ultimate attacks, causing them to stop entirely. For example, if Hela lands Soul Drainer on Thor during his Ultimate, it stops completely, resetting the character's Ultimate charge to 0%.
The Nightsword Thorns combine well with Nastrond Crowstorm, allowing the eliminations Hela scores to damage nearby enemies. The AoE explosion of a death crow from a defeated enemy punishes enemy groups that are too close together. When combined with Piercing Night, Hela has multiple ways to eliminate targets, reducing a rival team's numbers to turn the tide.
How To Use Hela's Ultimate
Rain Hel From Above
Hela's Ultimate launches the character into the air, keeping her in a fixed position until it is over. While this may seem weak, similar to how Iron Man in Marvel Rivals is exposed when becoming stationary during his Ultimate, Hela has few vulnerabilities. For starters, Hela's health increases by 800 when using her Ultimate, making her extremely hard to eliminate even if the entire enemy team targets her.
As Hela remains in the air during her Ultimate, the Crows she unleashes with her primary attack are capable of dealing tons of damage to enemies. Since these Crows are like AoE bombs you drop onto enemies, you want to aim each Crow swarm at groups of targets. With each enemy you eliminate, Hela's ive ability will activate, causing defeated opponents to explode and deal even more damage to those around them.
Characters like Magneto and Doctor Strange in Marvel Rivals can use their shields to block Hela's Ultimate, but not for too long. Hela has ten seconds to use her Ultimate, giving you plenty of time to use infinite Crow attacks.
You have to use Hela's Ultimate in a place where enemies can't dodge it, such as in a contested objective. Enemies can avoid Hela's Ultimate if they hide behind walls, as the Crows do not destroy a map's environment easily.
Best Team Composition For Hela
Unite With The Other Gods Of Asgard
Among the other characters in Marvel Rivals Hela can on a team, here are some of your best options:
- Thor
- Loki
- Hawkeye
- Adam Warlock
Both Thor and Loki share a Team-Up ability with Hela called "Queen of Hel." When this ability is active, Hela can resurrect both Thor and Loki during their respawn phase, but only when she scores an elimination. This is an incredibly powerful ability that can occur multiple times as long as Hela gets final hits on her opponents, allowing you to bring back two allies at once under the right circumstances.
Whenever Hela's Team-Up ability in Marvel Rivals triggers while Thor and Loki are still alive, they are granted Bonus Health instead of a resurrection.
Given how fast Hela can get eliminations, you can perpetually keep reviving both Thor and Loki throughout a match. Having Adam Warlock on your team means that Hela can be brought back from death too using the Strategist's Ultimate ability. With other characters that deal high critical hit damage, like Hawkeye, you wipe out enemy teams while they have to take your squad down multiple times to win fights.
Best Tips, Tricks Strategies For Winning With Hela
Stay Alive To Make Sure Others Don't
As a Duelist, it's Hela's job to score eliminations against high-priority targets, such as an enemy team's Strategist characters. Quickly using Hela's explosive damage output with her primary and secondary attacks can easily wipe out any pillars of an enemy team has. Hela works best in fights where she is uncontested, sniping enemies from afar with critical hits using her projectile Thorns.

Marvel Rivals Review - A Marvel In Super-Powered Multiplayer Gaming
Marvel Rivals pushes the Hero Shooter genre forward but fails to shake off faults that have become disappointing staples in modern multiplayer gaming.
Astral Flock provides more mobility than you may expect with Hela. You can use this ability to retreat from enemies diving into your team's backline to hunt you or reach high places on maps for the perfect place to attack from. Try to stay behind your Vanguard if you have one on your team so you have enough protection to only use this ability sparingly, as it does have a long cooldown.
Stun enemies to set them up for critical hits from Hela and her allies. By scoring more eliminations yourself, you can trigger Hela's ive often for more AoE explosions to tear through enemy team defenses.
You can use Hela's Ultimate to avoid danger as well, but only do this when you have few options left. Hela works best by dealing as much damage to enemies as possible, either to weaken them for your allies or to eliminate fragile targets. By using Hela's abilities to reduce enemy numbers, the rest of your team can act aggressively to pursue game-winning objectives in Marvel Rivals.
