Luna Snow is one of the premier Strategist picks in Marvel Rivals, ing her team with her effective healing, utility, and extremely powerful ultimate ability. A recent addition to the Marvel IP's roster of heroes, Luna Snow has quickly become a standout Strategist choice, fitting into nearly every team composition with her powerful ice abilities.

Whether trying to learn the Strategist role or broaden a personal pool of heroes, Luna Snow is one of the best character choices in Marvel Rivals. While effective at any skill level, Luna has the potential to carry teams well into the highest levels of play. Doing so requires precise timing and effective decision-making, but when done properly, she stands as a pillar of the Strategist role.

When & How To Use Her Versatile Kit

Luna Snow's ice-themed ability kit is versatile and effective, presenting a tool for nearly every situation. Most of her kit revolves around her hitscan primary fire, a three-round burst style weapon that deals damage to enemies and heals allies. With its hitscan property, it has the added utility of being able to hit more evasive enemies and allies alike, and is further enhanced by the rest of Luna's kit.

Using Ice Arts and Absolute Zero heals Luna

Luna is effective at both consistent and burst healing. When not buffed by Ice Arts, Luna's healing is reduced, but still enough for keeping allies in the fight. When under higher damage pressure, Ice Arts buffs her healing output significantly, and can be used to survive nearly any amount of incoming damage.

Luna's primary fire is always piercing. Try to position in such a way that multiple allies can be healed, while simultaneously outputting damage on the enemy.

Luna's secondary fire, Abosulte Zero, is an invaluable part of her toolkit with two major use cases. The first is when being dived by enemies, a common occurrence for Strategists, a role which is typically positioned in the backline. The freeze alleviates pressure by stunning the enemy, but also triggers her Cryo Heart ive, which heals Luna. Absolute Zero can quickly turn the tide of an enemy engaging the backline, especially if there is another ally or two nearby to help assist.

Share the Stage is a nice ability to have, but relying too much on its ive healing can be a trap. Instead of a primary method of healing, Share the Stage reduces the risk of switching healing targets in a hectic fight. Generally, leave the idol on tanks. Doing so gives Luna a little more breathing room than typical to heal other allies who may have received damage.

If I'm running the standard 2-2-2 Marvel Rivals team comp, I will often leave the idol on the less defensive tank, normally the one that doesn't have a shield, such as Hulk, Venom, or Thor.

Cryo Heart, being a ive, is not something that really needs to be thought about. This is especially true as the most common case of needing self-healing is when being dived, and the healing triggers off of the ability that is typically the first response to such an event. However, Smooth Skates does require a shift in gameplay, as quickly turning Luna around to escape an ult is a much safer course of action than the backtracking that is more common.

How To Use Luna Snow's Ultimate

How To Maximize Ultimate Trades

Luna Snow using her ultimate in Marvel Rivals.

Luna Snow's ultimate, Fate of Both Worlds, is among the strongest in Marvel Rivals. The use of Luna's ultimate can completely nullify multiple opposing ultimates, an invaluable asset for the macro strategy of a match. Like Overwatch, ultimate usage is an essential component of winning matches. For example, spending five ultimates will certainly win a fight, but it will leave the team vulnerable for the yet-to-be had ones.

A better strategy is to pace out ultimates, as using more than what's necessary becomes a waste. This concept is why Luna's ultimate generates so much value. Using it can skew this exchange even more, creating a hugely beneficial situation where one ultimate can be traded for multiple of the enemies'.

Fate of Both Worlds does this by creating a toggleable aura which either heals or damage boosts allies. When in the healing mode, allies are nearly invulnerable. Using her ultimate correctly is all about timing it so that allies can survive a barrage of ultimates. If used too early, the enemy will likely hold their ultimates. Conversely, if used too late, the team may already be dead.

Use it just as the audio cues for important ults are triggering. Additionally, after nullifying the pressure, be sure to switch to the damage boost mode to clean up a fight.

Best Team Composition For Luna Snow

Luna Is Never The Wrong Choice

Luna Snow in Marvel Rivals Launch Trailer

Luna Snow's strength means that she is a powerful healer for any composition. As her heals are both unlimited and powerful, utilizing Strategists with strong utility abilities, such as Adam Warlock's Soul Bond, is a great choice. These Strategists' utility is balanced around a more finite pool of heals, which Luna can counteract.

Vanguards are a class of characters in Marvel Rivals whose high health and survivability help teams, but some in this role are stronger than others.

Groot is a great vanguard option when tied with Luna. Groot's walls can be used aggressively to block a line of sight between an enemy and their Strategist allies, preventing healing. To further hinder their escape and secure a kill, Luna can use Absolute Zero to stun them.

Luna serves as the anchor for Jeff and Namor's team-up ability, giving them a slowing effect on some of their abilities. As all three are backline characters, this slow can be useful for kiting and defeating diving enemies.

While Luna does receive an ability from teaming up with Iron Fist, it's not the strongest team-up, and Iron Fist himself is overshadowed by other dive characters.

Once again, Luna fits any team-composition. She's an extremely powerful healer, with her ult alone warranting a pick. Luckily, the rest of her kit is equally strong, and makes her a character that is never the explicit wrong choice in Marvel Rivals.

How To Use Luna To Her Full Potential

Positioning is extremely important for Luna. Straying too far forward can make her an easy target, but being too far back can make healing frontline characters difficult. The very back of a team is always a good location for Strategists, as it allows players to see the entire team and quickly address healing needs.

Much of Luna's ability kit has both offensive and defensive uses. Trying to identify which is needed is essential. Seeing the enemy team composition is invaluable for this. Using Absolute Zero offensively can leave her vulnerable if the enemy is running a heavy dive composition. It's also important to be mindful of the team's status. If down a Strategist, for example, play defensively to compensate for the reduced heals.
