In an issue of Marvel Comics' Norman Osborn is seen striking a deal for an alliance with Kingpin, and Fisk also reveals the new weapon they'll be using, inspired by Hydra's takeover of the United States back in 2017's Secret Empire event.
In the latest issues of Nick Spencer's Amazing Spider-Man run, the Webslinger has been taken captive by Kindred, who's been torturing Peter Parker in the worst ways imaginable, planning to make some major retcons to the One More Day retcon itself. However, it looks as though Fisk has a bone to pick with this demonic version of Harry, as does Harry's own father Norman.
In this new preview from Marvel, Kingpin reveals that he may just have a way to trap Kindred for good, making him much more amenable to Fisk and Norman's wishes. Secret Empire, Hydra trapped the entirety of New York under a dome, imprisoning the whole city and its heroes inside the Darkforce Dimension. It was during this time that Fisk rose to legitimate power by providing much needed assistance and relief to the people of New York, which led to his election as mayor when the threat had ed. However, it seems as though Fisk gained an interest in the Darkforce Dimension itself, and the potential practical applications it could provide. Here's the preview pages and synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man from Nick Spencer and artist Mark Bagley:
- AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #56
- (W) Nick Spencer (A / CA) Mark Bagley
- "LAST REMAINS" TAKES ITS TOLL!
- You will never look at Norman or Harry Osborn the same again.
- We know SPIDER-MAN won't.
While the synopsis does very little in the way of information aside from teasing big things for both of the Osborns, the preview pages do show how Kingpin manages to harness the power of the Darkforce Dimension for his own ends. Apparently, he's had the small-time criminal known as The Spot in his custody for quite some time, having attached him to a machine that can guide and manipulate his powers and connection to the dimension as the Kingpin wills. The intention here looks to be a desire to trap Kindred with no way out unless Fisk or Norman says so. While it's unclear as of yet whether or not this ploy will actually work, it does seem certain that this new attack by Norman and Fisk was not part of Kindred's grand plan, so it will be very interesting to see how the rest of this Amazing Spider-Man issue plays out when it comes to comic book store shelves next week from Marvel Comics.
