Kevin Feige shares that they have a five-year plan laid out for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Having been involved with movie adaptions of Marvel stories long before he kicked off the MCU in 2008 with Robert Downey Jr. and Jon Favreau's Iron Man, the producer extraordinaire has an extensive knowledge of the comic brand's stories. And he plans on continuing what they started in of translating these narratives onto the big screen with a definitive blueprint on where the beloved superhero universe will go in the next years.
Coming on the heels of the Avengers: Endgame, which culminated everything that has transpired in the MCU in the last decade, Feige and his team might be due for time off considering what they were able to pull off with Joe and Anthony-Russo directed flick. But work never stops as he shares that at this point, they already know what's lies in the future for the franchise.

Not that Feige will have a shortage of characters to bring into the MCU prior, but the franchise's hero catalog got significantly longer and better after Disney's acquisitions of Fox's TV and movie assets. The deal effectively allows Marvel Studios to use the X-Men, Fantastic Four and all their tie-in characters previously with Fox in the universe. Fans are excited about this prospect with theories as early as now suggesting that either of the snaps in Endgame may have already secretly plant plot seeds that would allow the mutants to be introduced. That said, based on their tentative film slate (which they have yet to confirm but is repeatedly reported), there's no substantial clues hinting at the mutants in the MCU with films like Cate Shortland's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, as well as the slew of series for Disney+.
Last year, Feige shared that Spider-Man: Homecoming in Phase 3. Chances are that any official announcements will be done at this year's San Diego Comic-Con where Marvel Studios will be back with their regular Hall H after skipping last year.
