New comic book covers from Peach Momoko are bringing beautiful nightmares to the Marvel Universe. Momoko's artwork and "Momoko-Verse" has delivered stunning visuals and alternate stories to readers. Now, the Stormbreaker artist will be showcasing iconic Marvel heroes with a horror twist later this year.

Shared by Marvel, there will be twenty-six Nightmare variant covers from Peach Momoko in December. Momoko's work with Marvel in the past has included independent variant covers, themed lines of variant covers, and a series of comics showcasing iconic Marvel characters reimagined with elements of Japanese folklore.

Peach Momoko Delivers with Marvel Nightmare Variant Cover Series

Thus far, Marvel has unveiled seven covers within the series. These include covers for the following issues: Alpha Flight #5, Amazing Spider-Man #40, Black Panther #7, Doctor Strange #10, Incredible Hulk #7, Immortal Thor #5, and Luke Cage: Gang War #2. This variant line will begin releasing on December 6th and continue releasing each week through December 27th. The titles shared above will not all be released within the same week, and many more covers have yet to be revealed. These will make for a rather spooky holiday season to close out Marvel's year.

Each of the covers shared features images of being trapped, of body horror, and of isolation. The covers for both Black Panther #7 and Immortal Thor #5 include skeletal elements, while the transformation of the Hulk on Momoko's Incredible Hulk #7 variant is a grotesque mirroring of Bruce Banner's change to his monstrous alter ego. Alpha Flight #5 will be in the first wave of covers on December 6th, alongside Avengers #8, Blade #6, Daredevil #4, Fantastic Four #14, Sentry #1, Spider-Gwen: Smash #1, Thunderbolts #1, Venom #28, and X-Men #29. The second week of releases (December 13th) will include Captain America #4, Immortal Thor #5, Luke Cage: Gang War #2, Miles Morales: Spider-Man #13, Moon Knight #30, and Silver Surfer Rebirth: Legacy #4.

Three of the covers revealed above (Amazing Spider-Man #40, Doctor Strange #10, and Immortal Hulk #7) will be part of the line's third wave on December 20th. These will be accompanied by the release of Uncanny Spider-Man #5 and Wolverine #40. The final week for this variant cover line , Captain Marvel #3, Carnage #2, Spider-Woman #2, and Timeless #1. The final set will arrive on December 27th. There will be a myriad of covers to choose from for fans of Momoko's art, spanning numerous iconic heroes.
