A new MCU stars to celebrate Asian and Pacific American Heritage Month. Marvel's Voices: Identity #1 features Shang-Chi, Ms. Marvel, Wong, and Mantis from Guardians of the Galaxy, but there will also be many more heroes to read about. Fans of these characters (all of whom have - or will soon make - debuts within the MCU) will want to check out their newest comic adventures, arriving just in time for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

Marvel's Voices is a series of comics featuring the comic company's diverse heroes. From Marvel's Voices: Legacy to Marvel's Voices: Heritage, these anthologies showcase incredible characters in new stories and art from some of the industry's best comic creators who share a heritage with these Marvel heroes. This is the third consecutive year Marvel has been debuting these special anthology issues.

May is Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. To celebrate and add to the legacy of Marvel's heroes who belong to this community, many other AAPI comic creators. The main cover for the issue has been revealed:

Editor Darren Shan says, "Since last year's Identity one-shot, the Asian super heroes of the Marvel Universe have become even more prominent in mainstream pop culture. That's why I'm so excited to bring in these new and returning creators to the Marvel's Voices fold to give new perspectives on these beloved characters!"

Pirzada and Koda are collaborating to bring fans a team up between Shang-Chi and Ms. Marvel. Shang-Chi recently debuted in the MCU with his titular movie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021). Ms. Marvel will soon be debuting in her own Disney+ original series, Ms. Marvel, slated to begin airing sometime this summer. Pichetshote and Lee will also be writing a Shang-Chi team-up, but it will feature another fan-favorite character present within the MCU: Jimmy Woo. Woo initially debuted in Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018, but fans especially enjoyed his presence within WandaVision (2021). Now, this federal agent will have a new adventure. Holt and Zama will be presenting a new story centered on Mantis from the Guardians of the Galaxy. Mantis isn't focused on as frequently as the other Guardians, but she's an exceptional character nonetheless, making her a worthy inclusion.

Marvel's press release also mentions Wong, though a story has not yet been revealed. Many more creators are yet to be announced. As the date edges nearer fans can expect to hear about additional artists, writers, and included characters. Also, none of have been revealed thus far, but if past Marvel's Voices issues are any indication, there could be numerous variant covers for fans to collect. Already the characters included in this anthology series are an exceptional line-up that many MCU fans will easily recognize. Marvel's Voices: Identity #1 will be available May 11.
