impressive statistics from its recent beta are anything to go by).
With the game’s official launch, players will finally be able experience the full Marvel's Avengers story campaign as well as all its characters and missions. The beta, which was held across August, only gave players access to a few of the characters that are set to be playable in the full game. Two of the characters that players can look forward to using in the game include the recently announced Kate Bishop, who will be ing Hawkeye as the first two post-launch characters to be added to the game, with Bishop being the first to release and begin the story of the two characters.
A tantalizing Easter egg featuring Mjolnir was shared by The Irishlizard on YouTube. It contains possible spoilers for Marvel’s Avengers campaign, so those who want to avoid getting spoiled may want to save this for later. The video shows Thor's room on the Avengers’ helicarrier where players can find Mjolnir just sitting on the floor. Several of the Avengers, including Black Widow, Bruce Banner, Iron Man, and Kamala Khan, are shown attempting to pick up the legendary hammer to no avail before Thor is shown easily picking it up while once again calling himself “the strongest Avenger.” The next part of the clip, which shows the actual Easter egg and spoiler, reveals Captain America (who was assumed dead at the start of the game) enter Thor’s room, where he's able to slightly move the hammer.
The Easter egg is a reference to the MCU’s move the hammer just a little bit, showing that he may be indeed worthy of wielding the hammer in the game. Whether the Easter egg will remain just a sly nod to that scene or players will be able to someday have Captain America wield both his shield and Mjolnir is currently unknown. It may seem like asking to much for Captain America to actually get to swing Thor's hammer around, but given all the secrecy around the character in Marvel's Avengers, anything is possible.
As Captain America has been able to wield Mjolnir in both the Marvel comics and MCU movies, it would be an interesting sight to see him wield it in Square Enix’s game as well. Those who want to see Captain America Avengers: Endgame will just have to hope that the feature is already part of the game somewhere or in Square Enix's plans down the road, because so far, there's been no sign of it happening.
Marvel's Avengers will be available worldwide on September 4, 2020, for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.
