The game features the Universal Church of Truth who were key villains in the 2008 comics with ties to Adam Warlock. In the game, Warlock was their first "deity" who they worshipped. Powered by the soul stone, he healed and helped his acolytes throughout the galaxy, until he was betrayed by his close friend and companion, Raker. After abandoning the Church of Truth, Adam resides in a cocoon to heal himself, eventually awakened by the Guardians to bring Drax back to his senses after he becomes mind-controlled by the Church.

introduces many Marvel heroes in its story. At the final cutscene of the game, the team - along with Adam Warlock, Nikki, and Mantis - are all hanging out in the Milano after defeating the Church. Adam messes around with their pet llama and the group has a laugh. Warlock laughs with them, being a little more light-hearted compared to when he first appeared earlier in the game. The end signifies a newfound trust between all the characters, and could be the beginning of a larger team of Guardians, including characters like Mantis, Nikki, and Adam Warlock.

Thanos Can Be Introduced Through Adam Warlock In Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Thanos is mentioned multiple times in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and it's a big possibility that installments. Despite the rumor that Drax kill Thanos at the end of the Galactic War, there are many points in the main story of the game that hint at the villain's return. In a conversation with Drax, he states that he isn't certain that he killed Thanos, and is sure that he will return. Thanos is also brought up multiple times in the story by primarily Gamora and Drax.

By the end of the first game, Adam Warlock is entrusted with the Soul Stone by the Guardians, which he wears on his forehead similar to how Vision wears the Mind Stone in the comics and the MCU. In the post-credits sequence, it is stated that he wanders the galaxy, helping people and using the stone to heal. Drax's Guardians arc is heavily involved with Thanos and considering how the Mad Titan might now search for a new weapon to wipe out the people who defeated him, that may lead him to find Warlock. Thanos' search for the Infinity Stones is bound to make Warlock a target, which will in turn cause Warlock to flee to the Guardians for help.

Adam Warlock Is A Prominent Character In Many Guardians Of The Galaxy Stories

Adam Warlock is a key character in the Guardians of the Galaxy stories, even being one of the founding in the comics. The story of the games appears to be going down the Infinity Saga route, similar to the MCU's Phases one to three. Seeing how interconnected each character's storyline is with Thanos, it's possible that he will return in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Adam Warlock is too much of an influential character in the Marvel universe, so it is possible that he will come back in the next game.

By the end of , the dysfunctional group is growing, with Nikki, Mantis and Adam Warlock ing the team. This could set the stage for more playable characters in future installments. The first game allows players to be Star-Lord while commanding Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot during combat and to solve puzzles, similar to Final Fantasy VII: Remake. The second game could possibly include a similar type of gameplay, but with more characters in the team to command. The sequel could even go down a dual protagonist route, and have the player play as both Star-Lord and Adam Warlock, fueling the power struggle between the two.

Star-Lord and Adam Warlock Have Some Leadership Beef To Be Settled In Guardians of the Galaxy 2

From when Warlock is first introduced in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Star-Lord is consistently competing for the role of leader with the Golden God in the group, visibly annoying Star-Lord when he attempts to lead the way. Warlock seems too arrogant to see that Star-Lord is the real leader of the group, but the two clash at the very end of the game when they comedically attempt to let each other enter the Milano first, with Star-Lord getting the last laugh.

Judging from how the two beef with one another so often, and how powerful Warlock's abilities could be, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy 2 might let players play as both Star-Lord and Adam, integrating their power struggle in the gameplay. This would not be the first time the game has integrated similar concepts into its gameplay. Players are able to listen to Star-Lord's 80's hits soundtrack while in combat through the game's huddle system, and a lot of the choices in the game can be really funny to the point that they just add more spice to the story. Adding a dual protagonist feature that highlights the two's beef with one another would be a great way to implement gameplay into the game's narrative.

Adam Warlock is a very influential character to not only the Guardians of the Galaxy but to the entire Marvel universe. A wielder of the Soul Stone, it is likely that players will see him again in future games. He has the potential to introduce Thanos and his quest for the Infinity Stones. Warlock can also be a playable character in the ever expanding group, or he could be commanded by Star-Lord similar to the first game. Either way, it will be exciting for fans of the games to see the Golden God in action once again in the next Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy game.
