Marvel's Spider-Man 2's story tells the next chapter in the lives of Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they face both superpowered and personal battles. While the game's story has been widely praised and tells a mostly complete narrative, it does leave some loose ends, which it could tie up in story DLC.

[Warning: The following article contains spoilers for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.]

While 2020's Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales didn't have any DLC, the first title in the series, 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man did. Insomniac Games has already confirmed more post-launch content for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 than there was for its 2020 predecessor, so there's plenty it could introduce to expand its story before the seemingly inevitable Marvel's Spider-Man 3.

10 More Spider-Man Suits

Spider-Man's best suits

The first game's The City That Never Sleeps DLC added nine additional suits with three for each chapter, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see developer Insomniac Games do the same thing with Marvel's Spider-Man 2's DLC. A lot of Peter's suits from Marvel's Spider-Man aren't included in Marvel's Spider-Man 2's Peter suits, so it would be nice to see the DLC and post-launch content add some of these back into the game.

There are also several fan-favorite costumes from across the character's long history that haven't been added to Insomniac's games at all. Some of these have been teased by one of Marvel's Spider-Man 2's collectible Spider-Bots, such as Ben Reilly's Sensational Spider-Man suit, so it would be great to see these adapted by Insomniac.

9 New Powers

Miles powers up his blue electricity attack in Spider-Man 2

From a gameplay perspective, it would be interesting to introduce more powers in Marvel's Spider-Man 2's DLC. In the base game, players can pick and choose which buttons to map powers to, with the choice between Peter's mechanical arms or his symbiote powers, and a variety of bioelectric Venom abilities - which are not related to the Venom symbiote - for Miles. Miles' abilities seem to be evolving across the series, so it would be interesting to see even more potential powers arise to incorporate into this new mechanic going forward.

8 Chameleon

Marvel's Spider-Man 2's "Unidentified Targets" side activities lead players to a penthouse belonging to Kraven's half-brother, who is better known as the master of disguise, Chameleon. Exploring this location provides a better look at some of the technology Chameleon has on display, such as a holographic mask to assume any identity in an instant. After escaping the traps left behind in the penthouse, a cutscene plays where a disguised Chameleon can be seen monitoring the web-slinger from afar.

Chameleon appears in this disguise later in the game too, posing as a crane worker to help drug Miles, enabling Kraven's hunters to capture him. Although his relationship with Kraven was strained, Chameleon is still on the loose and may want revenge on those he deemed responsible for Kraven's death. With his ability to change his identity on the fly with his new mask, it could make for some intense scenes if he targets Oscorp or the Spider-Men, increasing the paranoia of many of the game's cast as nobody knows who to trust.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will see Peter and Miles taking on a variety of different villains over the course of the game's campaign.

7 The Emily-May Foundation's Revival

Peter and MJ set up the Emily May Foundation in their garage in Spider-Man 2's ending

Marvel's Spider-Man 2's ending sees Peter and Mary Jane reviving the work of the Emily-May Foundation in their garage. With Peter initially taking a break from his role as Spider-Man it would be great to see the good he is doing through these other means, and how his relationship with MJ progresses now the two live together. As Miles combats crime across the city, Peter could be looking into the various experiments carried out by the foundation to find a potential cure for Harry, potentially doing what Oscorp couldn't do via more ethical methods.

6 Setting Up Cindy Moon's Story As Silk

Silk from the Spider-Man comics alongside Cindy Moon's cameo in Spider-Man 2's post credits scene

Miles finally meets the man his mother Rio's been dating in Marvel's Spider-Man 2's post-credits scene after many attempts throughout the game's story. This man is revealed to be Albert Moon, who brings his daughter Cindy to meet the Morales family. Cindy Moon is better known to comic fans as Silk, a fellow spider-person who got her powers from the same spider that bit Peter Parker.

With Cindy's age being closer to Miles' than Peter's, it is possible that this origin could be reworked slightly in future entries. However, it would be interesting to see Miles and Cindy learn about each other's powers and how that would impact the dynamic of the two families before Silk potentially becomes another playable hero in a future game.

5 Carnage

Cletus Kasady holds the Carnage symbiote in a glass container in Spider-Man 2.

Cletus Kasady appears as the leader of a cult called The Flame, and is a huge loose end as he escapes with one of Oscorp's symbiotes by the end of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, announcing that there will be carnage. Kasady's return has already been teased as Wraith stated that she would track Kasady down, but this could take months or years.

Kasady prophecies a ritual in which he would become a red monster as part of an event called Crimson Dawn, and when reading across his books in "The Flame" side-missions, it's clear that this creature resembles the classic Spider-Man villain, Carnage. A new, ultra-violent symbiote like Carnage is exactly the kind of threat to the city that would bring Peter out of his hiatus, and with its handling some of the darker elements of the series so far, Insomniac is sure to do the fan-favorite villain justice.

4 A Satisfying Conclusion To The Wraith Arc

Peter Parker's Spider-Man tries to do the pointing meme with Wraith in his matching Saving Lives suit. Wraith isn't playing along.

Although it was d as a Black Cat-centric DLC, The City That Never Sleeps largely revolved around former police captain, Yuri Watanabe's story, who had been a great ally to Peter's Spider-Man during Marvel's Spider-Man's main story. The City That Never Sleeps chronicles Yuri's fall as she loses many fellow police officers and vows to take the law into her own hands.

Throughout Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Yuri has embraced her ruthless vigilante alter-ego, Wraith, and she clashes with Peter over his non-lethal approach to crime fighting. Ultimately, Wraith does put these differences aside to save Peter's life, letting The Flame's escape at the end of these side missions. With her behaving more heroically and less blinded by rage, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 could complete her heroic arc by having her apprehend the cult Spider-Man's way.

3 Play As Wraith

Wraith in Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Yuri hasn't built up much of a rapport with the one remaining Spider-Man, Miles, outside the occasional random team-up that can occur during the free-roam city events, so it's unlikely that she will go to him for help. With Peter taking a much-needed break from superheroics after the conclusion of Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Yuri will likely be investigating Kasady and The Flame's whereabouts solo at first.

This gives Marvel's Spider-Man 2 a great opportunity to have players take control of Wraith as she continues her investigation. The Marvel's Spider-Man games already have multiple playable characters aside from Peter and Miles, such as Mary Jane or Venom, so playing as Wraith would be a great way to show the vigilante's skillset from her time as a cop, and could set up Carnage as a threat through the eyes of a non-superpowered hero.

2 Other Marvel Cameo Appearances

Peter Parker's Spider-Man with many iconic Marvel superheroes behind him, such as the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men

While focusing on Spider-Man stories rather than constant MCU-esque crossovers has largely worked in the Marvel's Spider-Man games' favor, New York experiences an alien invasion during Marvel's Spider-Man 2's third act. Therefore, it makes little sense that this wouldn't have garnered the attention of S.H.I.E.L.D. or the other heroes with New York residences such as the Avengers, Fantastic Four, or Dr. Strange, the latter of whom was teased alongside Wong at the end of the game's Black Cat missions.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2's DLC could be a great opportunity to show the fallout of these events, with S.H.I.E.L.D. potentially investigating Oscorp after the company's experiments unleashed such a great threat upon the city, especially if the appearance of Carnage implies that the danger is ongoing. Having the likes of Nick Fury putting pressure on a grief-ridden, disgraced Norman Osborn would likely add to the former mayor's villainous turn.

1 Norman's Descent Into Villainy

Norman Osborn is on-track to becoming the Green Goblin in Marvel's Spider-Man series, and there's plenty of easter eggs ing that.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 made Norman Osborn far more sympathetic than he was in the first game, showing him more as a desperate father than a calculating politician and businessman. Osborn's villainous alter-ego as Green Goblin has been teased since the first Marvel's Spider-Man, so this transformation feels like the inevitable next step for the character, especially after the end of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 saw him distraught over his son Harry being declared brain-dead.

In the game's credits scene, Norman approached his former colleague-turned-adversary, Otto Octavius for help with getting revenge on the Spider-Men for "ruining" Harry. While the full Green Goblin arc should definitely be its own story in Marvel's Spider-Man 3, it would be interesting to see the beginning of Norman's descent into villainy in Marvel's Spider-Man 2's DLC.
