Warning! Contains spoilers for Venom War: Spider-Man #2!Symbiotes are one of the most dangerous things in the Marvel Universe and one of the things that makes them so dangerous is their ability to connect to just about anyone. Spider-Man knows this firsthand, as not only has he worn a symbiote, but several people in his life have as well, and now it seems Mary Jane has just become the most powerful symbiote of all.

One of the most shocking things to come out of Venom War is the reveal of the Arachniote, a terrifying symbiote that even the King in Black was afraid of. It takes the combined might of both Mary Jane and Spider-Man to bring this terrifying being down, but thanks to MJ's roulette powers and Spider-Man's help, it seems that they actually accomplish the impossible in Venom War: Spider-Man #2 by writers Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing and artist Greg Land.

Mary Jane Is Absorbed Into The Arachniote

However, the shocking end of the issue shows that the Arachniote isn't nearly as dead as Mary Jane thought. Instead, Mary Jane has become a part of the Arachniote, ing with one of the most powerful symbiotes in the world.

Mary-Jane Venom Renew Your Vows

Symbiotes can bond to an absurd number of people and beings, including dogs, dinosaurs, and even horses. Many people in Spider-Man's life have worn a symbiote at one point or another, even Aunt May had the Carnage symbiote once, and now it seems that it's Mary Jane's turn to become the Arachniote. But unlike the other examples, the Arachniote isn't going to share control with Mary Jane. Instead, it will likely simply absorb her power as it continues its rampage throughout New York, and now Spider-Man will have to figure out a way to defeat it without her help.

Even more alarming, Mary Jane uses part of the Venom symbiote to hack her roulette powers, allowing her to access and supercharge what she needs to defeat the Arachniote. If the Venom symbiote is able to do that, it's entirely possible the Arachniote will be able to use her powers as well. This means that Peter is now going up against a terrifying symbiote that is practically unstoppable, and it now has a random assortment of powers that he won't be able to predict.
