It has been nearly four years since Ansari has long stated that he would not return for a third season unless he had genuine inspiration behind such a decision.

Fortunately, it seems like creativity has struck because Master of None is reportedly back for a third season and it is currently filming in London! While anticipation is already high, considering how immaculate the series has been, for now, fans can only speculate. Though, there are some clear things desired for season three (and some clear things no one wants to see).

Want: More Denise

Thanksgiving

The undeniable breakout star from Master of None was Lena Waithe, who portrayed Denise, a childhood friend of Dev's. Denise received an episode that revolved around her, the prestigious "Thanksgiving," in season two.

The installment saw Dev and Denise's friendship developing through the years over the Thanksgiving holiday, as Denise tries to come out to her mother. Waithe wrote the episode and has since exploded into the zeitgeist. Hopefully, she's not too busy and can still come back as a ing player on Master of None.

Don't Want: Another Long Hiatus

Aziz Ansari in Master of None

When season two wrapped, Ansari warned the world that it would be a long time before season three came out, if it ever did. Fortunately, it's on the way, but no one wants another four-year hiatus for a show as impeccable as this.

Granted, it is Ansari's baby and he's free to do what he pleases with it. Plus, it was a euphoric feeling when the news of season three finally broke. But if a fourth arc is planned, it doesn't need such a lengthy gap preceding it.

Want: Sumptuous Scenery

One element of Master of None that still shines is how it feels like a scripted version of an Anthony Bourdain travel show. Dev's journey takes him to a number of stunning vistas and gorgeous locations, as well as some scrumptious-looking restaurants.

With the rumors that Master of None has returned to film in London, it seems like some prime European locations will feature on the show. Hopefully, Alan Yang's direction and Mark Schwartzbard's stunning cinematography returns with it.

Don't Want: Celebrity Cameos

Celebrity cameo

Some major stars, like Angela Bassett and H. Jon Benjamin, have made small appearances on Master of None to great effect. However, celebrities cameoing on Master of None just for the sake of it as not as engaging a decision.

John Legend and Raven-Symoné are two examples of celebrities who appeared as themselves. While they seem perfectly lovely in real life, they do seem to take away from the characters cared about most prominently. Master of None thrives without them, all the same!

Want: Dev's Family

Aziz Ansari's mother and father

One of the breakout elements of Master of None's first season was the appearance of Ansari's real-life parents as the parents of Dev. They were absolutely delightful in the roles and Ansari's father even garnered a fair bit of Emmy buzz.

The second season moved into more romantic territory, leaving some of the familial elements behind. They don't need an entire arc built around them, but a return to the front of the camera would be welcome for both!

Don't Want: More Fame For Dev

Aziz Ansari as Dev in Master of None Season 1

Season two may have tracked a key romance on Master of None, but it also sought to develop Dev's career to the point where he was becoming a highly-recognizable star and famous person in the universe of the show.

This is perfectly fine, considering the career arc of Dev. However, if he truly begins to break out into the mainstream and become more and more famous, it might come at the cost of his romances. A more famous Dev is a more distracted-from-devotion Dev. The only way more fame is forgivable is if it's truly what Dev wants.

Want: Romance Resolution

Alessandra Mastronardi and Aziz Ansari in Master of None Season 2

After all, as fun as Dev's media production work can be, the most stunning elements of Master of None revolved around his relationship with sca. If Master of None pursues the career-side of things, sca could end up being a casualty of that.

Her return is still up in the air, but there has to be resolution for their romance or, at least, some direction as to where it is going next. The ending of season two was slightly ambiguous and Dev and sca are so dynamite together that the world is owed some sort of understanding as to how their relationship progressed.

Don't Want: Ambitious Sequels

One of the standout elements of Master of None is its ability to experiment with the form of the Netflix show, as in the Italian cinema homage of "The Thief" and the artistic vignette series of "New York, I Love You."

It may be tempting to do follow-up high-concept episodes to these standout installments, but that temptation must be resisted. Master of None will hopefully continue to push the boundaries of television into new directions, rather than try to recapture the old hits.

Want: Noël Wells

Netflix slice of life

While Dev and sca make for one of the best couples in recent television memory, it did come at the expense of Noël Wells' character, Rachel, who fades far into the background of the second season.

It's fine if Dev and Rachel don't reconcile or rekindle anything because, again, sca is an incredible character. But Rachel seems like she has so much story left to tell that it would be most welcome if Master of None decided to follow her threads, too.

Don't Want: Bobby Cannavale

Dev and Chef Jeff sandwich

Don't misinterpret anything. Bobby Cannavale is a delightful actor who always elevates a project whenever he turns up in it. However, his Chef Jeff character on Master of None is one that no one needs more of.

Chef Jeff was creepy and unsettling and a decisive antagonist to what everyone loves most about Master of None. There's nothing to be tolerated about him and he should be readily dispatched from the series. It's territory that no one should wade into on the show. Let's just enjoy the vibes of Dev and company in London.
