Einstein has been ordered to series at CBS
Deadline confirms that Einstein has been ordered to CBS. The original article is below.
Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3.
Deadline offers an update on the pilots and shows that have yet to be renewed at CBS, mentioning that Einstein is in a good position to get picked up to series. It's mentioned that the project, from Monk creator Andy Breckman and director Randy Zisk, is well-suited for the network because the potential series about Albert Einstein's great-grandson is a procedural that also benefits from a solid sense of humor.
What The Latest Update Means For Einstein
Gubler Is Potentially Returning To CBS
Einstein is based on the German series of the same name, focusing on the brilliant but directionless Lew Einstein. A tenured professor who lives fairly comfortably and is Albert Einstein's great-grandson, Lew's circumstances change when his wild behavior gets him in trouble with the law. From then on, he is pressured to work with Detective Inspector Maddie Paris (played by Alita: Battle Angel star Rosa Salazar) and lean on his impressive intellect to help her solve cases.
Hailing from CBS Studios, with Breckman and Zisk as executive producers alongside Tariq Jalil, Rose Hughes, Rodrigo Herrera Ibarguengoytia, and Laura Beetz, Einstein will a busy slate at CBS if it's picked up. The network already has 18 scripted series on the schedule, in addition to three comedy pilots that are in contention, and an already-confirmed Blue Bloods spinoff centered on Donnie Wahlberg's character. However, the format that Einstein is tapping into tends to work like a charm.
Our Take On Einstein
It Could Break Out Like Other Shows
The format of a savant that helps with cases is tried and true in the network television space, whether it's High Potential season 2, Elsbeth, or Matlock. All three shows have been successes over the past year, with two of the shows already on CBS. But it dates back further, encoming favorites like Monk and Psych. With the creative force behind Monk onboard, and a likable actor like Gubler, the chances of Einstein doing well look to be very solid.
