A new action-adventure survival game, gathering more resources with those items in order to advance in the game. While players are gradually introduced to more difficult creatures through each act of the game, some players may be surprised when the game seems to jump difficulty in areas and islands. Suddenly, abundant resources may be scarce and island hopping becomes more relevant due to each island's available resources.

Windbound proceeds in a specific cycle during each act; find all three towers, reveal mural image, complete sailing challenge, and choose an ability upgrade. While there is much emphasis on best chance at survival, investing into inventory space is a necessity. Here's how players can maximize the use of inventory spaces using bags and boat containers in Windbound.

How to Maximize Inventory Space in Windbound

Windbound Food Bag

In Windbound, players are first introduced to special items including the Oar of the Ancients and ancestral knife. While the ancestral knife is unbreakable, players will find it rather difficult to fight opponents with thick hides like the Gloomharrow. To create stronger weapons, players must be able to hold several items at once while hunting and gathering for their future arsenal. Players can immediately take advantage of Palm Bag's when the item becomes available to craft after gathering Palm Fronds. Players can later craft Grass Baskets, adding three extra storage slots to their boat. Besides baskets, players can create a Bag Rack that holds a swappable bag on the boat. The Bag Rack can also be used to switch out "loadouts" of items within bags, including equipable weapons.

As players progress through the acts of Windbound, players will acquire stronger recipes along with their stronger materials. Essentially, the player will receive upgraded versions of the Palm Bag and Grass Basket. Players can create a Bamboo Bucket and a Wood Chest with the abilities to store five and seven items respectively. Bags are a bit more complicated, but the Heavy Duty Bag increases the inventory by eighteen spaces at the sacrifice of speed and stamina. Other bags, such as the Food and Stealth Bags, only increase the player's inventory by twelve with additional benefits of decreased food spoiling time and increased stealth.

If players build a boat with a deck and one hull on each side of the deck, they have four potential places for Bag Racks or boat containers. With a Heavy Duty Bag giving players eighteen free spaces, and Wood Chest's giving players seven free spaces, it is pretty apparent which choice will be more beneficial to players. However, it could also be in the player's best interest to leave a Food Bag on the boat to avoid starvation. While some players may not need to resort to the extreme measures of having more than thirty free spaces on the boat, there may be a few that enjoy the satisfaction of catag all holdable items. Either way, players of Windbound undoubtedly enjoy the sailing survival experience that is the game.
