AMC has expanded their adaptation of Anne Rice's Immortal Universe in Mayfair Witches, and now the supernatural thriller has been renewed for a third season. Developed for TV by Michelle Ashford and Esta Spalding, the series adapts Rices' Lives of the Mayfair Witches trilogy of books that concern Rowan Mayfair (Alexandra Daddario) as she inherits her family's fortune, and discovers their lineage of witchcraft. Despite the unpredictability of the main cast, there are a few certainties, namely the return of Alexandra Daddario as the powerful witch, Rowan, who is also now connected to Lasher as his mother/lover.

Speaking of the evil spirit, Jack Huston might return to play the insatiable entity, even though he seemingly died in season 2's finale. Lasher's immense power means he could always return in another form which might necessitate a recast. Tongayi Chirisa will likely be back as Talamasca member, Ciprien, and he may even take a larger part in the universe with the Talamasca spinoff coming soon. Harry Hamlin will be back as patriarch Cortland Mayfair, but it remains to be seen if Ted Levine will reprise as the evil Julien who is possessing Cortland's body.

Lasher's death is probably not permanent, and the insatiable spirit has a habit of returning again and again.
