Following a ground-breaking opening weekend with Supernatural, as are several other MCU actors.
The MCU is filled with hundreds of main and ing characters. In comparison, Supernatural has an IMDb cast list of over 2500 people. It comes as no surprise that there's some overlap between the actors who have been featured in both franchises.
Dylan Minnette
Dylan Minnette, known largely for Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Donnie is a S.H.I.E.L.D Academy student who gains the ability to turn things to ice when an experiment goes wrong.
When he was much younger, Minnette guest-starred in an episode of Supernatural. He plays Danny Carter, one of the family who move into a house with a dark history. He's the first to meet a woman living in the walls who stirs up trouble, and he's ultimately abducted by her. It's strange to rewatch this episode and see how much Dylan's grown since its release. He is a great actor, even at a young age. He shows a wide range of emotions in his performance as Danny, and his talent only grows as he gets older.
Aleks Paunovic
Aleks Pauvonic plays Ivan in surprising cameo in this Phase 4 project. Ivan is often incompetent, making for brilliant comedic relief.
Paunovic has been in three episodes of Supernatural. He plays a different role in each of them. His most prominent role, however, is Gunner Lawless, a professional wrestler that Dean Winchester idolizes. Sam and Dean soon come to realize that his success is due to a deal Gunner made with a Crossroads demon ten years ago, and his deal is up for expiration. Pauvonic is a great actor. Since his first project in 1994, he's earned 130 IMDb credits, the vast majority being ing characters or roles that have a single-episode arc.
Micah Hauptman
Micah Hauptman plays Lacy, a soldier at an air operations center in Iron Man. He detects the iron suit flying over Afghanistan, and his team works to figure out if it's a real threat.
Hauptman's role in Supernatural is notable as it takes place in the episode that brings Sam and Dean into a universe where they're actually actors on a TV show called Supernatural. Hauptman plays Eric Kripke, the real-life creator of the show. He's brutally murdered by a magical villain that followed Sam and Dean into this new world. His screen time is minimal, but it makes a lasting impact on viewers.
Amy Acker
Amy Acker plays Audrey Nathan on Agents Of Shield. Audrey is a cellist and Coulson's ex-girlfriend who believes him to be dead.
Acker plays Andrea Barr in the third episode of Supernatural. She's a part of the family being terrorized by a spirit seeking vengeance for those responsible for his death decades ago. Andrea fights for her life as well as the lives of her father and son. In both projects, Acker stars in only one episode, but her characters are important to the story each episode is trying to tell. She shows off her emotional range as an actor in both shows, proving she has what it takes to be a leading lady in future projects.
Wynn Everett
Wynn Everett plays Whitney Frost in season 2 of the best characters in Agent Carter.
Everett plays Amelia Novak in Supernatural. Fans know this character as the wife of Jimmy Novak, Castiel's vessel. She believes her husband to be out of his mind, and when Jimmy returns home after much time away, she is hesitant to let him in. When demons come knocking, however, she's forced to accept the truth and turns to Jimmy for help. This episode brilliantly explores the life of the vessel once it's freed, and the tragic story of why he agrees to let Castiel take over his body again.
Colin Ford
Colin Ford has a small role in Captain Marvel as Steve Danvers, Carol's older brother who looks out for her when they're young.
Ford has been featured in six episodes of Supernatural as a young Sam Winchester. He started in 2007 and kept the role until 2016. He first appears in flashbacks during a season 3 Christmas episode. It's enjoyable to witness this kid's growth throughout the show. His performance in every one of his episodes is amazing, and fans of the show were thrilled to see him in Captain Marvel. Even though it's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, Ford succeeds at setting the tone for the rest of the film.
Richard Brake
Richard Brake plays the Lieutenant of the Einherjar, the Asgardian army that fought the dark elves in the war at the beginning of Thor: The Dark World. Under King Borr's orders, the Lieutenant hid the aether somewhere it wouldn't be found until Jane comes across it in the film.
Brake is featured in a season 13 episode of Supernatural. He plays Luther Shrike, a collector specializing in supernatural artifacts. Sam and Dean are enlisted to pull off a heist and steal an artifact from Shrike's property. Richard Brake performs both his MCU role and his character in Supernatural with urgency. Shrine, in particular, is mysterious and intimidating.
Kathryn Newton
Kathryn Newton has not yet made her MCU debut, but she's set to star in the third Ant-Man film as Cassie Lang. Her casting is controversial as she replaced Emma Fuhrmann in the role.
Newton plays Claire Novak, a recurring character from 2014 to 2018, on Supernatural. Her father is Castiel's vessel, so she holds understandable animosity toward the angel for taking her dad from her. She was set to continue the character's story in a spin-off of the popular show, but it never made it to air. In both franchises, Newton replaces other actresses in their set roles. However, Supernatural could get away with it, because it had been five years since the character appeared.
Faran Tahir
Faran Tahir plays Raza in Iron Man. He's the commanding leader of a sect for the 10 Rings Army. He makes a deal with Obadiah Stane to kill Tony in exchange for access to Stark industry weaponry.
In Supernatural, Tahir plays Osiris, an Egyptian god who puts Dean on trial because he senses the older Winchester brother has a lot of guilt. If found 'guilty,' he plans to kill Dean to rid the world of his 'treachery.' Tahir plays the antagonist role in both projects, though in different capacities. While he plays a terrorist in Iron Man, Osiris is more like Ammit from Moon Knight, an Egyptian God who kills people because they sense evil in their hearts.
Adrianne Palicki
Adrianne Palicki plays Bobbi Morse in Agents Of Shield. She's introduced as an undercover SHIELD agent on a Hydra base. When her cover is blown, she s Coulson's team. Also known as Mockingbird, Bobbi Morse is a fan-favorite character. Audiences hope the Agents Of Shield character will the wider MCU now that the ABC show is over.
Before Agents Of Shield, Palicki had an occasional recurring role on Supernatural. She plays Jessica, Sam's college girlfriend who is killed by Azazel in the same manner as his mother when he was a baby. Her death sparks anger and determination in Sam to find and destroy her murderer. Palicki is brilliant in both projects. Though Supernatural uses her character as a plot device, she's still badass, not unlike her Agents Of Shield character.
