Across the MCU fans are excited to see what directions both new and returning characters will head in.

Whatever happens, it's sure that, aside from the action, it's the relationships between the fascinating characters that will keep audiences invested. In each film, Thor is able to create strong relationships with platonic friends and romantic partners alike, but sometimes it's the relationships between the other characters that really stand out. From the friendship between Korg & Miek to Loki and Thor's brotherly bond, there are plenty of great relationships in the Thor series.

Korg & Miek

Sakaar was filled with all sorts of people and creatures. One of the most iconic characters from maybe one of Thor's best friends - is Korg, who literally introduces himself as a giant pile of talking rocks. The character adds the perfect amount of comedy to the film and, along with his best friend, Miek, the two steal the show every time they are on screen.

Fans instantly fell in love with this unusual pair as they provided a whole new level to the third Thor movie that had not been seen before. While Miek didn't talk, the dynamic between the two was pure and wholesome. At the end of the movie, Korg was seen holding Miek's dead body. The fact that he couldn't leave his best friend behind even though he knew he was dead was an equally cute and heartwrenching moment. The excitement in his voice when he realized his best friend wasn't actually dead was an even better moment.

Thor & His Hammer

One of the strongest connections in the whole Thor trilogy may be between Thor and his hammer, Mjolnir. Thor is very connected to his hammer as it helps him to fly and channel his lightning powers. He often just wields Mjolnir around, sort of show-boating the hammer. Thor, occasionally being the smartest person in the room, even challenges the whole Avengers team to try and lift it up, believing that no one else but him was worthy.

When Hela crushed his hammer with her bare hand, Thor was crushed and went through a small identity crisis without it. Korg even makes a joke about how close Thor is to his hammer asking if it pulled him off. Obviously, that is not what Thor meant, and he did correct the pile of rocks and tried to help him understand what he meant since he so dearly missed his beloved hammer.

Hela & Fenris

The Asgardian goddess of death, Hela, made quite an entrance in Thor: Ragnarok. Her look itself was enough to win fans over, but when she found and resurrected her army of the dead and her giant Asgardian wolf, Fenris, there was no stopping her. The close connection between her and the wolf was instantly noticeable.

Besides the fact that she was seen riding it in a painting that was covered in Odin's palace, Hela seemed to gain an extra level of strength after she brought him back to life and had him accompanying her. Fenris clearly knew his job was to fight with her as he put in his all during the Battle of the Rainbow Bridge.

Bruce Banner & Thor

In Thor: Ragnorok Bruce Banner and Thor spend lots of time together on Sakaar, but not until after the character's most iconic scene in the Thor trilogy, where they battled it out in the arena. Although the duo may seem odd at first since one is all brain and the other all brawn, the two quickly become friends as they work together to find a way off of Sakaar.

Thor is there for Bruce as he begins to deal with the fact that he was Hulk for so long without realizing it. Even though Thor may not be the best at consoling people, it's the fact that he clearly tries to help, even if it's in his own way, that makes his notions so pure. In the end, the two end up having quite the adventure and become closer than fans, and probably most of the Avengers, could have imagined.

Heimdall & Thor

The Bifrost was guarded by Heimdall, who could see and hear everything in the Nine Realms. After the first film, Thor and Heimdall's friendship grows very strong. Going from ignoring Thor's cries in the first film when he is banished to Earth, to connecting with him and helping him learn how to leave Sakaar was a big change on Heimdall's part, showing that he truly appreciated Thor's maturation throughout the films.

The two may only initially be connected by the fact that they are both Asgardian, but it becomes more and more evident that the two form a strong and cherished connection.

Valkyrie & Hulk

Valkyrie and Hulk, two of the most powerful characters in Thor: Ragnarok, working together to train for the Grandmaster's games was a very fun combination. Valkyrie, who is stubborn, strong, independent, and slightly drunk most of the time, and Hulk, a big, green, angry guy was the combination fans didn't know they wanted to see. The two always had the most wholesome scenes, showing full of one another, and throwing teasing jabs at each other.

When Hulk turned back into Bruce Banner, the two both acknowledged that they recognized each other but couldn't quite place how. It wasn't until Banner turned into the Hulk again after jumping out of the ship and onto the Rainbow Bridge to fight Fenris that Valkyrie put together who exactly Banner was. The two have a very cute bond that continues to grow throughout the film.

Loki & Thor

Brothers by chance, these two have quite a dynamic relationship. The amount of tricks that they play on each other is endless, but their battles also never seem to end. The number of times that Loki actually tries to kill Thor is alarming, but they seem to work things out each time. There aren't too many moments in the Thor trilogy where Loki shows his best brother colors, but the amount of times that Thor stands up for him is truly astounding. Always taking responsibility and saying that it is his brother that caused the mess, he would make sure that he was taken care of.

At the end of the day, Thor may be upset with whatever mischievous thing his brother has done that day, but he still cares about him and loves him. After many crossroads and literal backstabbings, the two seemed to finally mend their differences and enjoy being brothers at the end of Thor: Ragnarok, only for Loki to get killed almost instantly at the beginning of Avengers: Infinity War. Thor's anger and hurt showed strongly as Thanos killed his brother, showing the relationship the two brothers had maybe one of the strongest, and most complicated, in the entire MCU.
