"Puny God."
Hulk - The Avengers (2012)
Hulk proved to be a bit unpredictable when he tamed up with the other heroes in The Avengers, but he certainly came in handy during the final battle. While he does a lot of damage to the Chitauri army, the big moment is when he confronts Loki.
As the God of Mischief launches into a speech about how he is above such a primitive creature, Hulk simply grabs him and tosses him around like a dog with a toy. He then leaves Loki with this hilariously dismissive line which Redditor timeshifter_ its "cracks me up every time."
"Know This Son Of Coul."
Thor - Thor (2011)
It is clear that Thor has changed a lot since Phase I of the MCU, especially with his sense of humor. However, the God of Thunder had some unintentional funny moments like this humorous exchange with Phil Coulson.
As Thor takes the name Odinson as he is the son of Odin, he makes the hilarious assumption that Earth follows the same customs, referring to Coulson as Son of Coul. Redditor BurnieMET praised the joke by insisting "that's some smart humor right there."
"If I Had A Blacklight...
This Place Would Look Like A Jackson Pollock Painting."
Peter Quill - Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014)
In of violence and language, the MCU has always operated at a level that was appropriate for younger audiences. However, some of the humor in their movies have pushed the boundaries of the PG-13 ratings.
When all the heroes reluctantly forces in Guardians of the Galaxy aboard Quill's ship, Gamora comments on how dirty it is. Quill then points out that a blacklight would reveal how truly disgusting it is. Redditor artshowhero described it as "one of the funniest lines I've heard in any movie."
"I Have Been Falling…For 30 Minutes!"
Loki - Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok brought a level of humor that was missing from the other Thor movies, even when it came to Thor's mischievous brother Loki. As Thor and Loki travel to Earth to find Odin, Loki is suddenly dropped into a portal while Doctor Strange has a chat with Thor.
After Strange and Thor hash out the reason he and his brother are on Earth, Thor prepares to leave and Strange opens the portal to bring Loki back. The idea that he has been falling that entire time and his exacerbated reaction to it is the kind of ridiculous humor that Redditor Nutmeg1729 itted "nearly killed me."
"I Wasn’t Listening I Was Thinking About Something Else."
Drax - Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014)
Given his name is Drax the Destroyer and that he is played by Dave Bautista, few people expected that Drax would become one of the MCU's funniest characters. But he delivers some of the biggest laughs in the movie, like in the hilarious team meeting scene.
As the heroes have a heated discussion about saving the day, Drax brings up something that was already discussed. When Quill explains that they just talked about that, Drax its he was thinking of something else. Bautista's delivery really sells the joke and Redditor Illmattic itted they were "so surprised by his acting."
"That Is America's Ass."
Captain America - Avengers: Endgame (2019)
When the remaining heroes go back in time in Avengers: Endgame, it inevitably leads to some complications. For instance, Captain America runs into himself from 2012, and his past self mistakes him for Loki, leading to them doing battle with each other.
Future Cap gets the upper hand and knocks the other Cap out. But before leaving, he can't help but pay himself a compliment as having "America's ass." Redditor obrienssg1 claimed, "that got one of the biggest laughs at a film I've ever heard."
"If They Can Teach Those Monkeys To Act That Brilliantly,
Just Imagine What I Could Bring To The World."
Trevor Slattery - Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings (2021)
Few people expected to see Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings. This allows fans to get to know a little more about him including the hilarious story of how he developed a love of acting.
Trevor tells a touching story about seeing Planet of the Apes as a child and being mesmerized by it. But it then becomes clear that he thinks those were actual monkeys in the movie. Redditor artygta1988 itted, "I was laughing nonstop."
"I Understood That Reference."
Captain America - The Avengers (2012)
So much of the humor in these movies comes from pop culture references, which can be a lot of fun. Of course, with Captain America coming from the 1940s, he often has a little trouble keeping up with this.
But when someone makes reference to The Wizard of Oz, it confused Thor, but Cap excitedly announces that he actually understood that one. Redditor top6 said the best part is "how funny Chris Evans’s delivery is."
"So Back To The Future Is Just A Bunch Of Bulls***?"
Ant-Man - Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Given everything in the MCU thus far, it was only a matter of time before they worked their way around to time travel in Avengers: Endgame. But while these heroes are brave and powerful, their concept of time travel is limited.
Ant-Man and War Machine base their logic of this science on the countless time travel movies. But when Bruce Banner insists it is much more complicated than that, Ant-Man is incredulous that Back to the Future lied. Redditor AgentMV enjoyed the relatable nature of the conversation as "it’s something a good group of friends would talk about."
"Oh, My God. The Hammer Pulled You Off?"
Korg - Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
Though he was only a ing character in Thor: Ragnarok, Korg quickly became one of the funniest characters in the MCU. And one of his most entertaining interactions was with Thor as the God of Thunder tried to explain how his hammer made him fly.
After first assuming that Thor rode the hammer, Korg misunderstands the explanation of the hammer pulling Thor off in a very wrong way. Redditor number1zero88 itted, "this always gets me."
