Warning: MAJOR SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Far From Home ahead.

Kevin Feige likes hearing about speculation regarding the potential set-up for future movies, Feige says that he loves learning about theories with regard to their projects.

Notoriously known for their secretive flicks, Marvel Studios go to great lengths to keep specific narrative details of their film tightly under wraps. While they operated like this for quite a while now, they upped the ante when it came to Avengers: Endgame. Infinity War ran a meticulous marketing campaign that barely revealed anything plot-related, paving the way to effectively execute its final plot twist - The Snap. It was more intense when it came to Endgame, which didn't have any proper title and promotion until four months before its release. Couple Marvel Studios' stern policy on secrecy and the immense interest in their films and the result is a fanbase actively making up theories - some are true, some are not, either way, Feige enjoys them all the same.

Speaking with ComicBook.com (via CBR) in light of the rampant speculation that the former Stark/Avengers Tower's new owners could have ties to either Norman Osborn or the Fantastic Four, Feige was coy about details. He did it, however, that he loves learning about all these fan ideas, regardless if they turn out to be true or false.

I didn't see a sign there yet. I don't think they put the sign up. I always think the speculation fuels it, whether that speculation is correct, as it sometimes is, or if that speculation is wrong, as it often is. How awesome is it seeing him swing around at the end of that movie, and with the web wings glide through a under-construction version of Avengers Tower?"

There's no doubt that engaging in speculation talk is fun for fans, much more so if some if the raised points eventually come to fruition. Infinity War and Endgame were the subject of countless fan theories, and even after they're released, they continue to be a pit of inspiration for theorists trying to crack what lies ahead for the MCU. But aside from fostering a community for loyal followers of any entertainment brand, having fans who constantly talk about an film (or TV show) especially on social media is essentially free marketing for any company. This is the reason why Marvel Studios was able to pull off an extremely short promotional campaign for Endgame since fans were already keeping it at the forefront of their conversations by speculating about it.

Far From Home left a lot of possibilities not just for Spider-Man, but for the rest of the MCU moving forward. While Marvel Studios have yet to announce anything concrete past Phase 3, there are several projects already in its pipeline. At this point, anything can happen in the franchise which is arguably where theorists thrive. As the universe rebuilds itself after The Infinity Saga wrapped up, fans can expect more speculations from fans and Feige will continue to enjoy them as he waits to officially announce what comes next for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
