While Vision is dead in the MCU, WandaVision introduced a new version of Bettany's character. At the end of the series, the Vision that had been conjured by Wanda in her grief ed on his memories to White Vision. The latter was created by the US government using the deceased body of Vision. White Vision then flew off on his own, yet to reappear in the MCU.

When the Vision series was first reported on, the project was referred to as Vision Quest. That title comes from a Marvel Comics story that served as the inspiration for the plot of WandaVision. While most of the comic book series' story has already been told, there is still a clear direction the Vision series could go. The character needs to fully make sense of his memories, as even after receiving them back from the Hex's Vision, White Vision did not revert to the character's original self, looking confused and conflicted.

In 2022, Deadline revealed a brief description of the reported project, claiming it followed "The Vision trying to regain his memory and humanity." It was also said that it was possible that Olsen's Scarlet Witch could make an appearance. Despite Wanda's seeming death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a rumor regarding Vision ties into how she could appear. According to the rumor, Marvel Studios would be mixing plans for Vision and the Young Avengers, with the series adapting the comics' Children's Crusade, which was all about finding the Scarlet Witch, which would raise excitement for Marvel's Vision.

Marvel Studios' Vision is a limited series set in the MCU and released on Disney+. It reveals the fate of Paul Bettany's resurrected Avenger, which was last seen fleeing Westview at the end of 2021's WandaVision. After the original synthezoid died at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, his body was reassembled by the secret organization SWORD, and his consciousness was restored by Scarlet Witch's magically recreated version of the robot.
