Spider-Man 2, which has got fans pretty stoked.
Although both villains appeared to die at the end of all blockbusters, fans are looking forward to seeking what limits they will push the next Peter Parker too. But just how will these two villains fit into the current story? Here are just a couple of avenues they could go down...
Electro: He Could Go After MJ
In turned up as the Green Goblin shortly afterward.
Harry went after Gwen Stacy and it's feasible Electro could now do the same with MJ. He would likely want revenge on Spider-Man and, even though it's a different webhead he'll be going up against, fans can't see him being too happy with the current Peter Parker either. It's possible he'll take a leaf out of Harry's book - which would certainly spell trouble for Zendaya's character.
Otto Octavius: He Could Lead The Sinister Six
There seems to be a villainous team up in the works. In the comics, Otto Octavius is the leader of the Sinister Six. So it wouldn't be surprising if he performs that role in the MCU.
The trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming. All these bad guys crossing paths suggests there is a team-up mission in the works and Octavius, with his vast intelligence, would be formidable as the head of the operation.
Electro: He Could Go After A Bounty
At the end of 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home, Peter Parker's identity as Spider-Man was revealed to the world - much to the webhead's sheer horror. This means that he may spend the early stages of the next movie on the run, with villains aplenty going after him now that they know the truth about the person who always foils their operations.
Electro has never had respect or iration throughout his life, and he could go after Peter in order to obtain this. Being the person who catches Spider-Man would definitely give Max Dillon what he's always craved - attention. One can imagine competition would be pretty fierce, but no one is sure if his powers necessarily make him the frontrunner to bring Peter in.
Otto Octavius: He Could Go After EDITH
In Far From Home, Peter is given Tony Stark's old glasses - named EDITH. They're not one's usual pair of specs, however, and give him access to Iron Man's technological empire. He's able to get them back from Mysterio after Jake Gyllenhaal's character acquires them and all ends well.
However, with Octavius a super-smart scientist, he could attempt to get hold of them. Unlike Mysterio's, he's got the intelligence to make them the weapon they could be. He wouldn't fuss around with illusions. Instead, he would use them to cause destruction. So Peter best put them somewhere safe because they could be of interest to the Spider-Man 2 villain.
Electro: He Could Cross Over With Harry
As everyone knows, Electro and Harry team up during the events of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. They actually become something of a double act and work well together, which is something that doesn't always happen. So with Harry surviving, it's possible he could be in line to return as well.
Harry is Peter's best friend in the comics, whereas the MCU have had Ned Leeds act as Peter's buddy in the two solo movies so far. Harry could feasibly go after Peter - who would certainly be a surprise. One could probably bank on this not happening but, given the plethora of characters being tipped to appear, no one should count Dane Dehaan's character out.
Otto Octavius: He Could Already Exist
Everyone knows that Peter is smart when it comes to science. He uses his knowledge when going about his business as Spider-Man, tapping into his expertise to craft together web-shooters. But who could he have learned that from? Well, Otto Octavius could be the answer.
In Spider-Man 2, and Marvel's Spider-Man video game from 2018, Otto is something of an inspiration for Peter. So, in order to crank things up, this can also be the case in the MCU's Spider-Man 3. It would certainly help shed some more light on Peter's past, something that's needed due to the lack of an origin story. So what if Otto doesn't come from the multiverse? What if he's already around instead?
Electro: He Could Be A New Character
When news broke that Jamie Foxx was returning to Spider-Man 3, the actor released a short statement on his Instagram page. He hastily deleted it, of course, due to the fact Marvel hadn't actually confirmed the news themselves. But one thing Foxx did reveal was that, this time around, he wasn't going to be blue.
So what if he's a different version of Electro? There is a possibility that the writers may revert back to the traditional green and gold colors - the same ones that can be seen in the source material. This same version of Max Dillon could then transform into a fully-fledged villain within the movie, rather than being one right from the start.
Otto Octavius: He Could Go After Oscorp
There have been many rumors and much speculation about Oscorp potentially replacing the Avengers HQ. That would mean Norman Osborn being involved, and likely son Harry too. Unfortunately, there is no confirmation on that at this moment in time. But some are speculating that Otto could go after Oscorp.
In some of the comics, Otto has issues with Norman. This is also the case in the 2018 video game. So if Oscorp's involved, fans can't imagine the scientist would be happy about it. However, if the Sinister Six is going to be involved, would Norman be one villain too far? Seven might be a crowd.
Electro: He Could Reform
If the writers do decide to go with a different version of Electro, there is a possibility that the villain might actually reform.
Given the character's past across different forms of media, that seems unlikely. But it would be a unique and different twist, one no one would see coming. Even if two other Spider-Men come back, Peter Parker may require some assistance in taking out some of the other bad guys in the picture. And a reformed Electro could be of huge help. No doubt an uncertain idea but it's still worth thinking about nonetheless.
Otto Octavius: He Could Seek Out His Wife
Say Otto Octavius does come out of the multi-verse. While one can imagine him getting revenge on Spider-Man, (or any Spider-Man), would be a priority - he may also find himself tempted to see his wife Rosie. As fans , the turning point for Otto arrived in Spider-Man 2 when Rosie was sadly killed by an experiment gone wrong.
Otto might just put his plans on hold to see whether there's a version of Rosie in this new reality. Should that happen, one can't imagine things going too well. But that's unlikely to deter him from seeking out his wife and attempting a very strange reunion.
