Captain America is one of Marvel's most inspirational heroes. Yet even he can make some pretty questionable moral decisions at times. Sometimes he just has to go with his gut and is completely shameless about that, despite any consequences.

He's a boy scout through and through but he knows his actions are usually for the greater good, which is why he can sleep easy at night with many of his choices. Here are 10 decisions that were completely shameless but for a purpose.

FIGHTING TONY

Cap Vs Iron Man

Cap and Tony have a really interesting relationship. The two have teamed and fought together and have faced off against one another. One of the most shameless things that Cap has ever had to do is fight off his former friend.

The first few times they battled he felt immense guilt, but after Tony turned against Bucky, Steve's best friend, he had to make one of the worst choices of his life. He leaped into battle fully determined to stop Stark by any means necessary.

LEAVING CAP BEHIND

Nomad

After this conflict, Steve actually left the moniker of Captain America behind. When the world needed a symbol of hope and wanted to feel protected, he walked away to work in the shadows in quite a shameless act.

He makes the same choice once again much later in life, deciding to stay in the past rather than returning to the world as Captain America. At least he left Sam Wilson in his place though, handing over the shield so that it could be put to good use.

STEALING PEGGY

Speaking of Cap's time travel, there's one thing that many people didn't consider when watching his final scene. It's been revealed in previous movies and the TV show, that Agent Peggy Carter actually marries someone from her work.

By heading back in time and sweeping the young lady off her feet, he is actually changing the timeline so that Peggy doesn't marry who she's supposed to. He is essentially stealing another man's wife without them even realizing it!

IGNORING ORDERS

WW2 Cap

During the war, it was Cap's responsibility to follow orders. Yet he is now much more used to giving them than receiving them. This all started when he completely ignored the chain of command and shamelessly went against every rule.

However, the results were that he rescued his best friend and a number of other soldiers, shocking those in charge and proving what a valuable asset the super soldier was. It goes to show that ignoring orders is sometimes the right thing to do.

RESISTING FURY

Nick Fury Cap

Nick Fury has been the leader of the MCU for some time. Steve Rogers has followed his orders often without question, but that all changes when weapons are being used to target people that are yet to actually become an enemy.

Cap completely resists this idea and even refuses to allow Fury to go forward with it. It's a powerful moment and one that Steve clearly feels strongly about, despite what it means in of his fundamental understandings from a military background.

HAIL HYDRA

Hail Hyrda

Those two words have a lot of meanings and connotations. For Cap, there are no two words that are worse for him to hear or say. In the comics Cap briefly becomes part of Hydra and we'd love to see the excellent Chris Evan portray this character iteration.

However, for him to achieve his mission of gathering up the infinity stones he must lie his way out of a conflict. He does so by shamelessly uttering those two words, Hail Hyrda. The overall goal is far more important than two words of hatred.

LOOKING AT SHIELD FILES

SHield files

Speaking of following orders, Tony Stark never follows protocol and Cap tries to warn him that his reckless actions could have consequences. However, when Tony actually hacks into the SHIELD files Steve can't help but have a look the old fashioned way.

He sneaks off and finds out that the organization is actually using old Hydra tech. It has a number of other secrets hidden away. It was this shameless decision that showed Cap what kind of group SHIELD is and spread doubt in his mind.

SOKOVIA ACCORDS

Civil War

One of Captain America's biggest actions was to stand up against the Sokovia Accords. Known as the registration act in the comics, this was a law that meant that any superhero had to with the government or risk being hunted down.

Cap bravely stood against this governmental decision and even fought against his friends for the right to keep his identity hidden and his choices free of any political barriers. He knew it was the right choice and stood by it to the end.

BREAKING TEAM FROM PRISON

Raft

Towards the end of his initial fight with the government, Steve sets out on a mission to rescue his friends from prison. It's another moment where he simply doesn't hesitate and does what he needs to do, completely ignoring any laws in place.

Despite the fact that these heroes had been deemed criminals he made his way into the Raft and broke out, potentially putting many people's jobs at risk due to how easy he made it look. He definitely did care about the consequences here.

POTTY MOUTH

Cap Swearing

It seems like an obvious addition, but Steve's potty mouth really needs to be reigned in. He was once the guardian of language, stopping his fellow heroes from disgracing themselves when they used these foul words.

How the mighty have fallen. His language is completely free, with some of the words he utters becoming truly shocking the more you listen to them. It has to be said that Captain America has to clean up his act and stop shameless spitting bile.
