They Sometimes Get Jealous
Even the muscle-ripped Thor can get jealous. In Thor: The Dark World, Jane goes on a date with another colleague, Richard Madison. But Richard's attempts to woo Jane don't go so well. When Jane and Thor discover a portal linking the worlds, Jane gets a call from Richard.
Thor is quick to listen and wonders who Richard is. It's clear as day that Thor had a little green monster on his back and worried that Jane moved on. The same can be said for Jane when she visits Asgard. It was obvious that Jane wasn't too smitten about Sif's closeness to Thor.
They Have A Long-Distance Relationship
Out of all the couples in the MCU, Thor and Jane were the only ones who can be tagged as long-distance. Comically enough, it's an aspect that's highly relatable, as fans see their struggle to stay together because of it. The first movie ends with Thor returning to Asgard to deal with Loki.
Jane and Thor are technically still together but live in two different worlds. The same issue is still prevalent in the not having Jane hurt Thor.

Thor and Jane are two completely different people in of their "career choice." Thor is a literal god of another world, while Jane is a scientist. Many can't ignore the fact that they had issues around this.
As Thor left to save the world once again and ed the Avengers, Jane had to continue her life. And because Jane dedicated herself to her career, it left Thor on the outside. He couldn't really communicate with her or spend time with her. Jane couldn't either, as Thor was saving the world.
They Are Proud Of Each Other

Jane comes to understand why Thor has to leave to Asgard to deal with the mess Loki made. Thor also understood that Jane had to live her life. In Thor: The Dark World, Jane can scientifically explain what Asgard's healers are doing to her. Jane looks at Thor excitedly and Thor looks proud.
They Fight
Just because Thor is handsome doesn't mean he escapes any criticism or anger from Jane. It was highly relatable when, in the second movie, Thor returns to Earth and Jane is both happy and mad. She is happy that she finally gets to see Thor, but fans couldn't help but laugh when she slaps him across the face in anger for not visiting her.
Jane is justified in her reasoning. Who wouldn't be upset over not being able to see your boyfriend for such a long period of time? She explains that she waited and waited and even cried as he told her he'd be right back.
Thor Boasts About His Girlfriend
In Avengers: Age of Ultron, at the legendary Stark party, Thor and Tony have a discussion about their girlfriends when Thor was incredibly relatable as a proud boyfriend. Maria Hill jabs at Tony and Thor about where their leading ladies are.
Tony starts by saying Pepper is busy running a company and Thor chimes in that Jane has become the world's leading astronomer. As they get into a boasting contest, Thor tries to win the "Best Girlfriend" debate by slyly talking about Jane winning a Nobel Prize.
They Have Awkward Meetings With Their Significant Other's Parents
Meeting the parents can be a bit awkward. Jane meeting Thor's parents was a hit and a miss and had many fans relating to the couple's predicament. Thor takes Jane to Asgard after she becomes infected with Aether. Fans cringed at Odin rejecting Jane for coming to Asgard and ridiculed Thor for it.
Jane didn't make a lasting impression on Odin and it created a tense atmosphere. Later on, Jane and Thor are having a moment when Thor's mother makes her entrance and Thor introduces her to Jane. Jane is quick to step away from Thor and looks a bit nervous. The first time meeting the parents can be tricky.
They Keep Each Other Safe

Thor also defies Odin and brings Jane to Asgard to get proper treatment and to try to remove the Aether in her body.
Jane is also protective of Thor, as, in the first movie, she tried to shield him from the Destroyer until Erik pulled her away. In the second movie, as Malekith's ship is crumbling, Jane once again protects Thor with her body.
They Break Up
Fans found Jane and Thor's breakup to be very civil and understandable. Jane went on to live her life as a scientist, meaning she had a lot on her plate and so did Thor. It wasn't easy for them to see each other.
