The deeper the Marvel Cinematic Universe gets and the more crowded with superheroes it becomes, the movies ingeniously crossover superheroes more and more. Whether it’s Iron Man replacing Uncle Ben in the Spider-Man movies or Ant-Man locking horns with Falcon, there are some big changes from the comic books.
characters we want to see return, the characters that have been confirmed so far are so satisfying. Mostly owed to its casting, Love and Thunder is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Marvel movies yet.
Sif
Outside of Thor, Loki, and Odin, there are few other characters who have appeared in all of the Thor movies. However, Sif, an Asgardian warrior and Thor’s childhood friend, has been present in every one of them, and the only reason she wasn’t in Endgame is because she was a victim of the blip. She will be returning for number four, but though she had a significant role in the first two films in the series, given how there are so many characters in Love and Thunder, chances are she’ll take a backseat this time around.
Grandmaster
Outside of Loki, who seemingly never dies, there aren’t many noteworthy villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Ragnorak introduced one of the oddest antagonists in the whole series. Though he found himself in trouble at the end of the last movie, will return in some form in Love and Thunder.
Jane
Though Jane was absent in Thor: Ragnorak and for most of the MCU ever since the Thor: The Dark World, Thor’s love interest will actually return in a big way. In Love and Thunder, fix Jane Foster, but if anyone can do it, it’s him.
Valkyrie
Though she was only introduced in Ragnorak, she had an imperative role in both that movie and in Avengers: Endgame, especially given that she was crowned the king of New Asgard at the end of Endgame. Valkyrie will no doubt be an important part of the future of Asgard.
Along with Jane, Valkyrie will have a fascinating role in the fourth entry in the franchise, as her bisexuality will be addressed in the film, making her the first official LGBTQ+ superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Gorr The God Butcher
As Hela was by far the most interesting villain there has been in the Thor series, Waititi has his work cut out for him when it comes to the main antagonist. However, it’s looking like the villain will be even more exciting. Though there’s surprisingly will be played by former Batman and Academy Award winner, Christian Bale.
Korg
One of the things that made Ragnorak so brilliant was that Thor was surrounded by genuinely interesting characters. Besides Loki, the ing cast in the first two movies were fairly forgettable. In Ragnorak, Korg, who is almost like a dollar-store version of the Thing, as he’s made of rocks, was returning in the fourth movie. Being voiced by Waititi himself, Korg’s personality didn’t match his build, as he’s a hilariously timid gamer who gets into fights with other online players.
Pretend Thor & Loki
One of the funniest moments of Ragnorak came at the beginning when a fictional play about Thor and Loki’s relationship was underway for "Odin’s" entertainment. The best thing about it was that the actors in the play are performed by famous actors Matt Damon and Luke Hemsworth. will the theatre actors, portraying Hela.
The Guardians
Given how Endgame ended with Thor and the Guardians riding off into space together in the Milano, it isn’t much of a surprise that the Guardians will be making an appearance. The whole lot show up, as Star-Lord, Drax, Nebula, and even Mantis will all appear in the fourth Thor movie.
How long they’ll be in the movie for is up in the air, but they Thor will be returning the favor, as he’ll be in the next Guardians movie too.
Thor
It might sound redundant, given it’s his own series, but unsurprisingly enough, Thor will be in Love and Thunder. However, he’s probably going to have much less screen time. Though it might be his own movie, given that there’s not only Valkyrie’s story arc, Jane becoming Mighty Thor, and whatever role the Guardians have, Thor very much could be cast as a ing role in his own movie. But at least he doesn’t have to battle for screen time with Loki this time around.
Russell Crowe’s Mystery Role
With all of the Disney+ limited series and movie announcements coming from Marvel on a seemingly daily basis, it can be hard to keep up with updates and news. However, there is one big piece of cryptic information that fans had been speculating over ever since it was announced. And that was the reveal of Russell Crowe playing a mystery character. It has now been revealed that he will be playing Zeus, though it ceased said by Crowe himself, it is yet to be confirmed by Marvel.
