The Thunderbolts* Cast

What The Thunderbolts* First Trailer Reveals About The Marvel Movie

As the Thunderbolts* cast are brought together, the footage offers a good idea of how Valentina Allegra de Fontaine looks at these characters. To her, the Thunderbolts* characters are expendable, and it seemingly won't take long for them to realize that notion, too. Time will tell if the of the Thunderbolts will end up turning on Valentina.

The bigger takeaway, however, is the more light that is shed on Lewis Pullman as Bob, as the trailer for the Thunderbolts* story teases even more about him actually being Marvel's Sentry. While his powers may not be on display in the Thunderbolts* trailer, there is a clear shot of Sentry's emblem as someone is seen picking it up, presumably Bob himself. Whether Sentry is the actual villain that the Thunderbolts team will end up having to take down remains to be seen.

Our Take On The First Thunderbolts* Trailer

The Thunderbolts* Cast

From everything that is displayed in the first Thunderbolts* footage, the team-up movie already looks like another strong MCU release. It's almost impossible not to draw parallels with DC's Suicide Squad, which feels very intentional. The MCU has long invested in the idea of ability, and these are, obviously, some of the characters with the most "red" in their ledgers.

Not only does the trailer set up one of the darkest stories in the MCU, but it genuinely doesn't look like any other Marvel Studios film, allowing it to have its own tone and place in the franchise since the focus is on characters that are meant to be questionable. Hopefully, more Thunderbolts* marketing will offer additional clues to what the MCU audience can expect from the 2025 film.
