In the 21st-century era of film, Jason Statham's name has become ubiquitous with the action genre. And It Just Recently Hit Freevee

Mechanic: Resurrection has now become a hit on streaming. The film is a follow-up to the 2011 movie The Mechanic, which tells the story of a hitman who takes on an apprentice that he shares a unique connection with. In addition to Statham, the 2016 sequel Mechanic: Resurrection had a star-studded cast including Jessica Alba, Tommy Lee Jones, and Michelle Yeoh. Despite this star power, Mechanic: Resurrection did not perform well among critics. The movie has a 31% Tomatometer with 58 reviews and an audience score of 40%.

Per Collider, Mechanic: Resurrection has found new life as it becomes a hit on streaming. The sequel made it onto the top 10 on Freevee, taking the no. 9 spot. This achievement comes just days after Mechanic: Resurrection was added to the streaming platform, as it was added at the beginning of this month.

Statham Has Huge Star Power

The renewed interest in Mechanic: Resurrection serves as an example of just how strong Statham's sway can be. Several Statham films have been added to streaming recently, and Mechanic: Resurrection is not the only success story within this batch. The Mechanic did well on the Netflix charts upon being added to the streamer, as did the 2008 standalone action-heist movie The Bank Job on its platform. Mechanic: Resurrection adds more fodder to that Statham-driven fire, and just goes to show how successful the actor can be even absent good reviews.
