Rumors of an Metal Gear Solid 3 remake from Virtuos cropped up last year, and now another piece of evidence points to the sneaky project's existence.

As reported by Video Games Chronicle, a recruitment video recently posted to YouTube by Virtuos contains a clever hint towards the rumored Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake. As pointed out by Twitter GGFTL, a copy of The Art of Metal Gear Solid can be seen sitting conspicuously on the desk of Virtuos concept artist Louis-Alex Boismenu during the video. This may be a sly hint at the fact that the developer is working with the beloved stealth action franchise, presumably a remake of an older installment. However, the actual concept art seen on Boismenu's desk seems unrelated to the Metal Gear series.

Previous rumors suggest that Virtuos' Metal Gear Solid 3 remake will feature Kojima as a consultant, which would be a great way to ensure the project's authenticity. The third entry in the Metal Gear Solid 3 is considered particularly sacred by fans, with the game delivering truly iconic boss fights and an emotional storyline that reveals the origins of series antagonist Big Boss. MGS3 also stands out from other entries due to its natural outdoor setting, with players using various camouflage suits and facepaints to sneak through the lush jungles of the Soviet Union.

The Metal Gear Solid series has laid dormant since 2014, when franchise creator Hideo Kojima left publisher Konami to start his own independent studio. No new entries have been made since Kojima's departure, but the recent announcement of new Silent Hill games suggests that Konami is now prepared to resurrect popular old franchises. The last installment in the survival horror series was released way back in 2012, but now Konami has announced several new projects including Silent Hill f and a remake of Silent Hill 2. Now it seems that Metal Gear may be the next Konami franchise reinvigorated with a modern remake.

Virtuos' Metal Gear Solid 3 remake has long been rumored, and now fans have been given another big hint that the game truly does exist. The Art of Metal Gear Solid is placed very conspicuously in the studio's recruitment video, which may be intended as a tongue-and-cheek hint at the project. The book's presence certainly isn't a confirmation, but it seems likely that the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake is hiding in plain sight.
