The results of the Metaphor: ReFantazio popularity poll are in, revealing the official fan favorites in both Japan and the West. The two versions of the poll launched in January in an attempt to determine once and for all which characters are players' favorites in the hit RPG from Atlus. After amassing thousands of votes, the results for both Japan and the West have been revealed, with an exclusive illustration depicting the Japanese winners.

The winners of the ReFantazio Japanese popularity poll are Protagonist in third, Louis in second, and Strohl in first place, Persona Central. In the English version, the winners have been revealed to be Heismey in third, Strohl in second, and Eupha in first place, according to the Atlus West X .

The two sets of results are obviously very different, but Strohl's win in the Japanese version and near-win in the English single him out as the official favorite character in Metaphor: ReFantazio, at least according to over 10,000 votes for the character in Japan (the numbers for the West and other countries have not been revealed).

Though there were no vote totals given for the English version of the poll, the top three tell a very different story. The Protagonist is clearly not as beloved in the West, for instance, coming in at 10th place compared to Japan's third. The top 10 winners of each poll are as follows:

It's worth noting that the two polls had different rules, with the Japanese poll allowing fans to vote once a day, while the English version was a one-and-done single-vote deal. To celebrate the winners of the popularity contest, Atlus has released a video narrated by Gallica that highlights the top 20 characters according to fans.

The results were also accompanied by an official illustration by the game's character designer Shigenori Soejima. The drawing shows the three characters in monochrome using the game's iconic Persona-esque art style, along with a thank you note.

It Seems Strohl Is The Only Character Everyone Can Agree Is Awesome

Atlus held different contests in several other countries, and it's clear that no matter where you live, Strohl is a beloved character. The only exception is in the vote results from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau, where Strohl barely makes it into the top five in fifth place. The results from the other country polls are:

It's interesting to note how divisive the Protagonist is, appearing over all the polls as either the top or the bottom of the list. No matter how you feel about each specific character, they are all united in being part of the beloved hit title Metaphor: ReFantazio, and each add something special to this GOTY-nominated hit title from Atlus.
