A Czech online game retailer may have leaked the release date for Nintendo's eagerly awaited Metroid Prime 4. The possible leak is to be taken with a grain of salt, of course, but there may be something there.

Samus Aran's next outing is one of the most highly anticipated releases lacking a release date. More than a decade has ed since Metroid Prime 3: Corruption launched on the Wii back in 2007.

Bad Five reports that the long wait may be over relatively soon, as Metroid Prime 4 could be slated to launch on November 29, 2019. The site notes that the Czech retailer SuperGamer has updated its page for the game with a tidbit of information, which Bad Five has translated as meaning "planned release date 29.11.2019.” Elsewhere on the page, as per Bad Five's translation, the site indicates that Metroid Prime 4 "will be in stock on the 29.11.2019."

There's a reason that people are so eager to learn more about Metroid Prime 4: the games that preceded it were almost universally beloved, with all three games in the Prime trilogy scoring at least a 90 on review aggregator Metacritic. Then there was the widespread disappointment of 3DS game Metroid Prime: Federation Force, which was lambasted by both critics and fans of the series. So there's a lot riding on Metroid Prime 4, a game that has the potential to bring Samus into the present - and who doesn't want to see what a Metroid game would look like on modern hardware, channeling modern design innovations, and maybe even advancing new innovations of its own? For years, now, Samus's main function has been as a character in Super Smash Bros. games, and fans are ready to experience her next full-fledged adventure.

As Bad Five points out, it would make sense for Nintendo to release Metroid Prime 4 around the holidays. But this potential leak, like all such bits of information, shouldn't be trusted too quickly. Save for the fact that Metroid Prime 4 is in development for the Switch, Nintendo has offered players no information about the game. We know, practically speaking, nothing at all about the game. So while it can be exciting to seize on the scraps dug up based on a Czech online retailer's website, doing so may just lead to more disappointment than it's worth. And, really, what's a little more waiting after this long?
