While there's still not a great deal of information available on Metal Gear Solid Delta, one of the franchise's most important actors is already singing the game's praises. In late 2023, Konami stunned fans of the essentially dormant franchise by announcing that it was developing a ground-up remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, the title that's widely regarded as the franchise's best outside of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom. As fans of the series eagerly await any updates on the project's development, David Hayter is happy to report that he loves it.
Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Hayter, who is widely recognized as the voice of Solid Snake across nearly every Metal Gear Solid game, revealed that he'd had the opportunity to play Delta's introduction, right up until "the bridge scene" which is a pivotal moment in the story.
To further sell his experience, he states that the time he spent with the game was "spectacular" while also including a brief video of Delta's opening menu. The clip doesn't give much away but does show off some of the jungle that Solid Snake needs to navigate throughout his mission.

10 Weapons And Gadgets That Should Appear In The Metal Gear Solid Movie
With the Metal Gear Solid movie still in development, its producers still have time to settle on which of the series' weapons and gadgets to include.
Metal Gear Solid Delta Is Making Some Changes
After months of rumors that Konami was in the process of developing a remake of one of the most beloved Metal Gear games, the company officially unveiled Delta to a great deal of confusion from the fanbase. Many questioned why the Snake Eater subtitle had been replaced with a mathematic symbol, prompting the developer to explain that the Delta sign had been selected for the game to represent the fact that the remake was changing certain aspects of the original while still retaining its core gameplay.
One of the most significant changes facing Delta is the voice capture audio from Snake Eater, explaining why Hayter was able to play the game early. For his part, Hayter has openly discussed his love for Metal Gear Solid and Solid Snake even though he was formerly replaced by Kiefer Sutherland in the fifth game.
When Will Metal Gear Solid Delta Release?
Even though Konami has been working on Metal Gear Solid Delta for some time, it's still unclear when the company plans on releasing the game. It has confirmed that players can expect it to arrive in 2024 but a specific release window has yet to be provided. When it does eventually arrive, it'll be available as a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
