My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is preparing to introduce a new character in its next episode, and this new character happens to be the sister of someone who's been at All Might's side for years: Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi. Better still, she has a fantastic Quirk that will surely come in handy.

Naomasa Tsukauchi happens to be All Might's friend on the force--the Commissioner Gordon to All Might's Batman, as it were. Tsukauchi is, himself, a Quirkless man, but his detective skills are second to none. He's one of the few people who know of All Might's weakened form, especially during the era of Vigilantes, and acts as a confidante for the #1 hero. He often deals with heroes in general in his work, and in the main series, played a critical role in providing intel and coordination for the Final War. His sister, however, is a different character entirely.

Makoto Tsukauchi is introduced in Vigilantes as a PR agent working for an American hero by the name of Captain Celebrity, who is undergoing a bit of an image crisis that has led him to leave the US and perform hero work abroad. Unlike her brother, Makoto is highly suspicious of authority, and often rebels against it, though she is typically careful not to break the law. Makoto's social skills and understanding of how people think and act are incredible, and that affords her a high degree of skill at her job. She's quite a bit younger than her brother, and not much older than Koichi.

Makoto's Quirk is called Polygraph, and it predictably allows her to tell when someone is lying to her when she touches them. The Quirk can, however, be subverted by technical truths, as well as delusions that the person genuinely believes. While this might seem like the ideal Quirk for her detective brother, Makoto uses it very carefully to obtain information about a variety of topics. She's also known to be rather reckless, taking big risks that could pay off substantially or cost her even more. This gives her an interesting strategy as Captain Celebrity's public relations manager.

Makoto is effectively a main cast member, acting as a means of introducing Captain Celebrity to the plot, among many other things. She takes a shine to Koichi quickly, which naturally makes Pop Step a bit jealous, especially since Makoto is older and considered quite attractive.

Makoto has a major role to play in My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, and it's largely independent of her brother; in fact, the two hardly get to interact over the course of the series. Despite not being particularly close, it's easy to see how Makoto and Naomasa influenced each other growing up, making her an excellent sister character. Fans should get ready for next week's episode now, as Makoto is sure to make quite a splash with her My Hero Academia: Vigilantes debut.
