Michelle Pfeiffer may have a role lined up in either first Ant-Man and The Wasp trailer doesn't actually show or even reference her character.
With fans still waiting to be introduced to Pfeiffer's take on the original Wasp, her debut this summer comes right in-between two of Marvel Studios' biggest movies yet. We still don't know how she will factor into the larger narrative of the MCU, or if Janet will even be around for the long haul in the franchise. Based on a comment by a Marvel Studios producer, however, Ant-Man and The Wasp might not be the only film that features the character.

THR spoke to Marvel Studios executive producer Victoria Alonso recently to discuss the production side of what they do as a studio. Alonso is the executive VP physical production for Marvel Studios, and is highly involved in Marvel's day-to-day and big picture plans. So, when she was asked about the experience filming Avengers: Infinity War, Alonso itted that the sheer magnitude of what they were attempting and seeing all their stars together was a memorable experience. In doing so, she may have revealed that Pfeiffer has a role in either of the next two Avengers films:
Yes. I’m not going to lie to you, I cried. You say to yourself, “Huh?” You have big stars talking about other big stars as in, “Gasp, is that Michelle Pfeiffer? It is! Oh, was that so-and-so?” It’s like their little Hollywood moment, which I found lovely and endearing.
Considering what we do know about Infinity War (which still may not be much), there doesn't appear to be a place for Janet van Dyne to appear. Not only is the cast already incredibly large, but introducing her in Infinity War would be a strange move. She's going to be a big part of Ant-Man and The Wasp in July, and with other Ant-Man cast looking to sit out the third Avengers movie, why include her then?
The better fit would be in Avengers 4, after she's made her proper introduction. We do know for a fact that Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) will be appearing there, so why couldn't Pfeiffer's Janet and maybe even her husband Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) appear too? If she does make an appearance, it likely won't be in that big of a role, but if the Quantum Realm plays a major factor in Avengers 4 (as some fans are expecting), then who better to get involved than someone who spent decades in that place?
This is all assuming that Alonso isn't using Pfeiffer's name as just an example, which could alternatively be the case. But, as long as Janet makes it out of Ant-Man and The Wasp alive, the chances of her appearing in Avengers 4 will look much better.
