on Netflix right now. The dark and creepy nature of the show grips the viewers, with real-life stories of USA's worst serial killers.
The first season of the Netflix Original was absolutely sensational, which saw Holden on the edge of emotional breakdown. With Ed Kemper taking a liking to him, Holden has to find a way to balance his personal and professional life. This is where every episode from the second season of David Fincher's Mindhunter ranks, according to IMDb.
Episode 1 (8.2)
The first episode of season 2 picks up exactly where the season 1 finale left the viewers. Holden is in a hospital bed, dealing with repercussions of the fatal panic attack he suffered after meeting Ed Kemper, while Bill is with his family, spending some quality time.
At the BSU, some big changes are taking place, thanks to Holden's unnecessary methods of interviewing serial killers. Tedd Gunn is taking over the office from Shepherd and he seems to be open-minded about Holden's not so sincere methods.
Episode 6 (8.2)
In the sixth episode of season 2, the series takes a bit of a break of sorts. After an incredibly intense fifth episode, the show's pace dies down a bit too much. BSU finally gets the heads up to go over to Atlanta and assist in the case.
Holden is ecstatic, while Bill has to deal with matters at home. Wendy isn't too happy with this, though, because she doesn't like Holden and Bill getting away from their real job. Still, this is an opportunity for Wendy and Greggs.
Episode 3 (8.3)
In the third episode of season 2, Bill has to check on his family, as he takes a break from the job by giving an excuse. Holden makes his way over to Atlanta, meets Jim, and goes to interview another serial killer called William Pierce.
It's a fascinating interview, to say the least, revealing just how easily these monsters think about killing someone. Back at Bill's house, the horrifying crime scene of a dead child sends shivers down the spine of his whole family.
Episode 7 (8.3)
In the seventh episode of season 2, it's the same old story in Atlanta, Bill, Holden, and the other cops are determined to find their killer as everyone comes up with new ideas.
Holden's is a very bold one, but executable. Back at Bill's home, the problems are going up. Brian has stopped talking and Nancy is as worried as ever. Meanwhile, Wendy's interview doesn't go well and she is called in by Gunn before she has a chat with Bill about Atlanta.
Episode 4 (8.6)
In the fourth episode of season 2, the Atlanta serial killer case has become high profile, with Bill and Holden at the center of it, as they try to decode the personality of their wanted criminal.
Back at their office, Gunn thinks this could be an opportunity as Holden lays out the case for him. While Bill doesn't like the idea at first, he has to agree if the boss is saying so. Thanks to this, Wendy gets to be in the line of fire as she starts conducting interviews.
Episode 8 (8.6)
In the penultimate episode of season 2, the killer in Atlanta is nowhere to be found, giving headaches to everyone involved in the high profile case. Bill and Holden have different ideologies, but they agree on one thing, they need to draw the killer out before he kills again.
Elsewhere, Wendy is having second thoughts about her personal relationship, while Bill's family is going in the wrong direction and he needs to save them.
Episode 2 (8.7)
In the second episode of season 2, Bill goes over to Kansas to investigate a case. He talks about the details to a cop named Bernie before they pull over to a crime scene.
Later, Holden and Bill discuss the case and bring BTK into the argument. Meanwhile, Wendy isn't too happy about Holden and Bill investigating active cases because she wants them to do what their department was made for. But, Holden and Bill are gripped.
Episode 9 (8.8)
In the season 2 finale, the Atlanta serial killer case has a prime suspect, namely Wayne Williams but Holden knows as well as anyone, the police can't hold him until they have some concrete evidence.
Meanwhile, it seems Brian's situation is getting better, which gives Bill some hope of full recovery. Also, it turns out, Williams is more manipulative than anyone could think, as he uses everything against him to his advantage.
Episode 5 (9.0)
In the fifth episode of season 2, the viewers get to see Bill deal with a precarious situation involving his son, Brian, who's said to be involved in the death of a kid. But, he gets called into the office by Gunn, thanks to Holden's mishaps and that triggers Bill, as it should.
Holden isn't a kid, who needs to be looked after, and besides, Bill has more pressing matters to attend to. The episode is the best in the series for a reason, it's chaotic, quick, and hits the right chords emotionally.
