A Mindy Kaling sitcom was always going to be amazing, and fans definitely weren't disappointed with the very beginning of the series, Mindy Lahiri was determined to find love, and she struggled to find the right person. She had it all, from a great career and apartment to a witty personality, and yet she was single. Her desire for a romantic life straight out of a movie didn't make the quest any easier.

When Mindy and Danny Castellano (Chris Messina) fall in love, it's heartwarming, but they do go through quite a lot. It would be easy to argue that they're meant to be together and it would also be easy to say that they're one of the least logical couples on a sitcom.

Perfect: They Have Their Jobs In Common

Mindy has a lot of good things going for her. She's well-dressed, she has a deep knowledge of pop culture, and she's intelligent. Best of all, though, she has an amazing career as a doctor.

This is something that she has in common with Danny as they both work at the same practice for a while. This makes them a perfect couple as it's really nice for partners to really understand what the other person does for a living. Otherwise, it can lead to tension, especially since doctors work long hours and undergo a lot of stress.

Make No Sense: They're Both Stubborn

Mindy and Danny have some interesting personality traits and they are also both pretty stubborn. This becomes most obvious as they get more serious and have a baby and consider marriage.

It's not great to act this way in a relationship, and in Mindy and Danny's case, it means that they have no desire to compromise or communicate properly.

Perfect: They Both Want A Family

It's very sweet to watch Mindy give birth to her son Leo and this proves that both she and Danny want a family. It's awesome that they're on the same page about this very important life decision.

So many couples break up because they don't want the same things, so they're both lucky that they want to raise kids together.

Make No Sense: They Have Different Ideas Of Their Perfect Future

Unfortunately, just because Mindy and Danny have sweet baby Leo doesn't mean that they have the same vision of how their lives should work out.

While Mindy wants to be a working mother, Danny sees her as an old-fashioned housewife who cooks, cleans, and takes care of their children. This is heartbreaking for Mindy to realize, as she didn't think that he would act this way. This is a really big problem for them to have.

Perfect: They Have The Same Sense Of Humor

Mindy dates a lot throughout the show and she doesn't seem to really mesh well with many of her boyfriends. The problem? She's totally hilarious and they're boring or just plain weird.

Danny, however, has a similar sense of humor, and the two characters spar a lot at the office. They're both quirky and silly, and they work well together.

Make No Sense: Mindy Falls For Someone Else

Who could forget about Ben (Bryan Greenberg), another one of Mindy's major love interests? If Mindy and Danny are perfect together, then she wouldn't fall for someone else after the two split up.

She does, though, and they even get married. While they do divorce because it's not working out, it's confusing that Mindy would become someone else's wife if she's so in love with Danny.

Perfect: Danny Meets Mindy's Parents In India Before Proposing

Many things about The Mindy Project are confusing, but Danny does all the right things before proposing to Mindy. He actually flies to India so he can meet her parents, which is a huge step and a really important one.

Some people would think that this was too intense and would shy away from this, but for Danny, no distance is too far to travel for his one true love.

Make No Sense: Danny Is Too Conceited And Immature For Mindy

While Mindy has an inflated sense of self, this is usually played for laughs. She is much more insecure than Danny is and tries to seem more confident than she actually is sometimes.

Danny is way too conceited and immature for Mindy. He's used to being the most attractive man at his office and he wants good things handed to him.

Perfect: Danny Comes To His Senses In The Series Finale

The show has some good and bad episodes but fans were satisfied with the series finale since it was hinted at that Mindy and Danny would be okay.

Since Danny comes to his senses eventually and realizes that he loves Mindy, this suggests that despite their problems, they're a perfect couple.

Make No Sense: Danny Is Scared Of Marriage For Most Of The Show

But even though Danny and Mindy do ride off into the sitcom sunset, it's true that Danny is scared of marriage for most of the show.

This is impossible to forget about as this is such a crucial element of their love story. Sure, he loves Mindy, but why is he so afraid of taking this step? Why can't he see that Mindy is the right person for him?
