Thanks to the wonderful world of modding, it may now be completely possible to create a full-scale replica of the Earth in only truly ambitious builders ever reach those heights.

Multiplayer has been an aspect of Minecraft since its initial release, and players have always ed forces to take part in large building projects. Minecraft build is pretty equivalent to that size, a Minecraft Empire State Building would have to be a scaled-down version of the skyscraper in order to fit the game's height limit.

Building to the scale of reality in Minecraft was previously impossible until a recent workaround was discovered thanks to modding. A YouTuber by the name of PippenFTS shared a video in which he explained how two mods titled “Terra 1 to 1” and “Cubic Chunks” were able to shatter through Minecraft’s building height limit. He goes on to explain the incredible “Terra 1 to 1” mod, which takes data from Google Earth and translates it into chunks of Minecraft blocks. Through the use of this mod, PippenFTS was able to render Mt. Everest and the Grand Canyon at full-scale in Minecraft.

The Minecraft “Build The Earth Project” is now born, and PippenFTS calls for players around the world to the ambitious idea. As of right now, the “Terra 1 to 1” mod only recreates the geographic landscape of Earth. That means players will have to forces in building all the landmarks and civilization themselves. Near the end of his video PippenFTS announces that he will be kickstarting the project by attempting to build a full-scale Seattle. He calls on all Minecraft players to do the same and create their own corner of the world. As cities are completed, they can all be compiled and patched into one map, creating a true Minecraft Earth.

This is the first time in Minecraft’s history where a project this massive actually seems possible. The project has received a very energetic response from Minecraft fans and is forming communities on Discord, Reddit, and even Patreon. Minecraft players may have found a perfect distraction while waiting for Minecraft Dungeons. One day, players may be capable of surviving the deadly nights of Minecraft from an in-game version of their own home, city, state, and country.
