A talented epoxy resin artist has recreated Minecraft’s glass and grass blocks in real life. Mojang’s sandbox title continues to inspire its fan’s creativity, thanks to Minecraft's seemingly infinite procedurally generated world and a variety of game modes that cater to different play styles.
12 years on from its release, Minecraft is still consistently updated by developer Mojang, with its most recent 1.17.10 patch adding Caves & Cliffs: Part 2 update features ahead of its full release. Planned as a two-part update, the first half of Caves & Cliffs introduced a variety of new blocks, crafting items, and creatures, such as the amphibious Axolotl. As its title suggests, the update aims to improve the game’s mountain and cave biomes, and included major visual changes for ore blocks to make it easier for colorblind players to identify between different ore types.

Redditors were quick to point out that whathowyy had not actually fulfilled their fan’s request. After realizing the mixup, the artist remedied the mistake by finally creating a block of grass, which was made by simply cutting a cube of grass and soil straight from the ground and giving it a light trim. Although players can get close to experiencing "real-world" Minecraft in VR, whathowyy’s resin art certainly takes it a step further (albeit in a different direction).
Minecraft continues to be the canvas for its fans’ never-ending creativity, with whathowwy’s tactile creations giving a unique window into what life may be like if it was a little more cuboid. It’s always amazing to see what fans of Mojang’s sandbox survival game come up with, and with Minecraft’s Caves & Cliffs: Part 2 coming soon, there will be more blocks and items to inspire fans’ creativity.
