One of the stars of Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning's cast also includes Simon Pegg, Haley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Pom Klementieff, Greg Tarzan Davis, and Angela Bassett.

Entertainment Tonight's Nischelle Turner spoke to Pom Klementieff, Greg Tarzan Davis, and Simon Pegg about the release, where stories about filming in below-freezing conditions came up (via etonline.com). Klementieff and her co-stars recounted how she "almost lost [her] nose" to frostbite while filming Mission: Impossible, but the team luckily quickly noticed this and rushed to warm her up. It was also discussed the precautions that were taken to protect the actors in this environment. See their comments below:

Klementieff: We were shooting, and there was a close-up on me, and then at some point, everyone was like, "Pom! Stop! Get warm! Get warm!" I was like, "What's happening?" And my nose was turning white.

Davis: The tip of her nose started turning white and if we would have waited any longer, then she would have — it would have become dead.

ET: Could you feel — you couldn't you feel anything?

Klementieff: Yeah no.

ET: You just knew you were cold?

Klementieff: Yeah.

Pegg: They had to have people watching the monitors at all times checking us. If your skin goes sort of waxy, and white, then that means that you have frostnip, which is the precursor to frostbite. So we had a whole team of people that were just waiting to run on set, put a hand warmer on our face, blow a hair dryer in our face.

The Mission: Impossible franchise is famous at this point for Cruise committing to performing various death-defying stunts himself, presenting the challenge of topping the last one with each new film. It generally garners iring press for the actor and the movie. However, Cruise is not the only one putting himself out there for the sake of the final product.

Klementieff seemed to be in good spirits while sharing this story as part of her tour to promote the movie itself. It is also good that the Mission: Impossible crew was prepared for this, and they didn't take their actors out into the Arctic looking for a cool scene without considering the dangers. This security allows it to now be a story actors are willing to share in a lighthearted conversation, which won't hurt how the movie is ultimately received.

We Forget Sometimes That Being An Actor Can Be Dangerous

Paris with a knife in Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning

Every once in a while, a story comes up to remind us that the cast and crew of movies sometimes find themselves in risky situations or harsh environments in order to produce the art that we love. I was a little bit startled by Klementieff's experience while filming Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which could have been much scarier for someone than it seems to have been for her. It's an insight into filmmaking where, thankfully, stunt coordinators and other crew work tirelessly to keep everyone safe.
