Warning: Contains SPOILERS for MobLand season 1, episode 10.The truth is out, and one of the biggest Harrigan family tree, has been coming for a few episodes now, ever since Maeve mentioned Kev's "other brother." Given that it prompted such a furious reaction, a bombshell such as this one had seemed to be on the cards.
The episode opens with Kevin talking to the dead Rusby, and revealing that Eddie is actually his brother, not his son. Bella is still the mother, but the pregnancy happened when she was with Conrad, before she was "ed" to him. Eddie had no idea... until MobLand season 2.
How MobLand Set Up Its Eddie Reveal
The Show Had Dropped Clues To Conrad Being His Father
While it's certainly a shocking twist for Eddie, the reveal of his true parentage had been telegraphed by MobLand a few episodes earlier. As mentioned, the biggest clue something was being hidden was the mention of Kevin's other brother, or more specifically, his reaction. It had to be something extreme to provoke that kind of response, and Eddie being Conrad's son fit. That Kevin only decided to kill Rusby after being asked if he had children further suggested an twist regarding his son.

MobLand Season 1, Episode 10 Review: I'm Even More Bored & Frustrated By This Series Now That I Know How It Ends
MobLand episode 10, "The Beast in Me", is the finale of a meandering and too often boring series that hasn't progressed the plot since the premiere.
There was also the matter of Bella's own history with Conrad, and Kevin's mention that she was ed off to him. With Conrad also asserting that he still "owned" Bella then, again, it felt like there was more to the story. Eddie's special treatment from Maeve, that he was so different from Kevin - but every bit as hot-headed and violent as his "grandfather" - and even Conrad very directly calling him "son" in episode 9 were also hints of this.
What Happened With Eddie & Maeve?
MobLand Suggests There's More To Their History
It's Maeve who reveals the truth to Eddie and, as has been the case throughout MobLand season 1, she has her own plans in place. For this point, specifically, it means making Eddie into the king of the Harrigan empire, with Maeve by his side as the queen. But, as even Eddie asks, what exactly does that mean, and what would their relationship be?

Every Death In MobLand's Season 1 Finale
The final episode of the first season of Paramount+'s MobLand came to an appropriately bloody conclusion, as several key characters met violent ends.
Maeve is obviously pretty twisted anyway, but the show has made some darker hints to her story with Eddie. She was fiercely protective of him when she discovered his relationship with Gina, but that could've been a grandmother not thinking someone was good enough for their grandson. In episode 9, however, there was a very uncomfortable moment when she put her hand on Eddie's leg, hinting there was more to it.
In the finale, we hear that Eddie was a nice, good-natured boy until he was around 12- or 13-years-old, which is when something happened with Maeve that turned him into the way he is now. Sexual abuse is a common thread in this story already, and as horrifying as it is, it's definitely leaving that as a possible implication. It could also be that Maeve was corrupting Eddie in a more criminal sense, turning him into someone more vicious and violent, but in some way she had been grooming him to serve her own purposes.
Seraphina is someone she can't use, whereas she has at the very least manipulated Eddie into doing her bidding...
This would also explain why she's so "nice" to Eddie, despite him being an illegitimate child of Conrad's, while hating Seraphina for also being exactly that. Seraphina is someone she can't use, whereas she has at the very least manipulated Eddie into doing her bidding, which she aims to continue as a means of clinging on to power. That's something actor Anson Boon has also commented on, telling TV Insider:
"I am just as confused as Eddie about that, because, like I say, look how she treats Serphina, and she’s related to Seraphina in the same way she’s related to Eddie in that she’s totally unrelated to her. But she seems to really believe in Eddie. As Bella said, since Eddie was about 12, 13 - so literally, for 10 years - she’s been working on him. She’s been grooming him. She’s been raising him.
"I guess we’ll find we’ll hopefully find out, if we get the privilege of doing a Season 2, we’ll find out whether she’s been secretly raising him as a pig for slaughter or whether she sees something unique in this guy and she’s like, “No, no, he can really run this, but he’s his granddad’s son. He can run this family one day.”
What Happens To Eddie Being In The Harrigan Family Now?
He Should Be A Key Part Of Season 2
What happens next to Eddie in MobLand season 2 really depends on how things shake out in of the power dynamics within the Harrigan family, though it's unlikely he'll be going anywhere for a while. Kevin has stated his intent to take over the empire, and he doesn't see Eddie as being his problem any longer, so presumably he won't want him around. Given Eddie also came close to killing Bella, then that relationship is going to be strained, to say the least.
As Conrad's son, and one who hasn't directly opposed him like Kevin has, he could now be viewed as the true heir.
On the flip side, if Conrad and/or Maeve can regain control of the family, then Eddie will be in a better position. As Conrad's son, and one who hasn't directly opposed him like Kevin has, he could now be viewed as the true heir. Maeve, meanwhile, has already stated her desire to see him as the king, and she's someone who'll do absolutely anything to cause chaos and get what she wants.
For his part, Boon thinks Eddie has the ability to take on leadership of the family. He said:
"Eddie grew up believing that this just was his family. So he’s kind of unique because he’s got this aristocratic woman, his mother, and then this gangster is his father. So he gets kind of that sense of power and entitlement, which gives you a real confidence, from his mother’s side, and then an equal sense of power and entitlement, because they’re ruthless gangsters from his father’s side. So that gives you leadership qualities in the first place — to run a mob anyway — and then also his grandma, incredibly intelligent woman, perhaps not for the good, but she’s definitely very intelligent. She’s definitely teaching him everything that she knows."
There'll be a lot more to come from Eddie in MobLand season 2 (assuming Paramount+ renews it), as he still has to confront Kevin about that big secret, as well as various power plays - not to mention the Harrigans potentially having to face off against the threat of Kat McAllister. After the twists of season 1, he's well-positioned to be central to absolutely everything if and when the show returns.
