Juggernauts first seen in Modern Warfare 2 into Warzone, letting anyone claim one of their iconic suits for a short time.
Season 4 has been a big one for Warzone, both for what’s actually been added to the game and for the rampant hype around what might be coming next. There have been rumors of big changes to come for Warzone’s map floating through the fanbase for a while now, with many thinking that they would come this season. While that hasn’t quite panned out, it now looks almost certain that Apex Legends.
With Warzone Season 5 reportedly starting on August 5th, Infinity Ward is planning one last bash for Season 4’s final weekend. The big news Infinity Ward announced in a recent blog post is the return of Juggernaut Royale, which shakes up Warzone’s normal flow by dropping Juggernaut suits onto the battlefield for squads to duke it out over. Whoever claims the suit first will be granted a minigun, a thick suit of armor, and health regeneration. Grabbing the suit gives the lucky player a huge advantage over their competitors, but the fight to claim one can be fierce.
Along with the return of Juggernaut Royale, Warzone will have double XP, double weapon XP, and double Battle progression for the entire weekend, from July 31st to August 3rd. The two promotions together make it a great time to jump into Warzone before the Season 5 is expected to shake things up forever. That is, if it goes better than Modern Warfare’s last double XP weekend. Earlier this month, a double XP weekend turned out not to be granting any progression bonuses at all, leading to a lot of irate players accusing its developer of intentionally lying about the bonus to inflate its player numbers.
Presumably Infinity Ward will make sure to click that all-important double XP switch this time and make it a sendoff worthy of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 4. For players who normally don’t go in for battle royales, the Juggernaut Royale mode might even make it worth jumping in and trying to at least cause some chaos if not actually claim victory.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
