Here's everything we know about canceled Marvel TV shows, apart from Patton Oswalt's villainous comedy.
Created by Captain America. M.O.D.O.K.'s physical appearance is much different than the typical Marvel superhero, evidenced by his monstrous head and tiny limbs. And because of his size, the character must sit upon a flying chair. In the comics, Amadeus Cho transforms M.O.D.O.K. back into Tarleton, who struggles to his past.
A TV show about M.O.D.O.K. will naturally spark discussions about the character's place in the MCU. The supervillain's appearance and comic history suggest that he'd be a popular figure in the movie franchise, however, some fans may worry about the comedic premise of the Hulu series. But that doesn't mean the show couldn't be a success. Here's everything we know about Hulu's interpretation of the Marvel baddie.
M.O.D.O.K. Is Happening
comparing M.O.D.O.K. to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and The Lego Batman Movie to suggest how it fits in with the rest of the MCU:
"We were lucky because our show is its own animated world. It’s a satire of all the stuff that’s come before it - from the comics, the movies. So we pulled from everything. We took an attitude that was similar to [Into] the Spider-Verse or LEGO Batman where we’re like, 'it all counts, let’s pull what we need for the stories, and then carve out our own little section with AIM and MODOK.' And Marvel was great about giving us a lot of the toys."
M.O.D.O.K. Release Date
According to Oswalt, M.O.D.O.K. is currently being animated by Stoopid Buddy Stoodios (Robot Chicken, Crossing Swords) and will presumably release in early 2021, at least if everything goes as planned:
“The episodes have been written. They’ve been recorded. Now they’re being animated. And because we committed very hard to the stop-motion aspect to it and we’re really packing every frame with crazy detail. It’s looking like it’ll be early next year, but I don’t know the exact date yet.”
