Monster Hunter Rise has several types of quests that can make it challenging to determine which types of quests should be completed first. While all players are encouraged to enjoy the game however they please, completing certain quests first will benefit players more depending on what they're after. Now that Monster Hunter Rise has officially launched on PC with all of the content that was included during the updates to the Switch version, there are even more types of quests to differentiate between.

The eight different types of quests in Monster Hunter Rise are Village, Hub, Training, Arena, Requests, Rampage, Event, and Challenge quests. For Co-Op quests in Monster Hunter Rise, the Hub quests will be the go-to for anyone looking to play with friends or online with others. Training, Requests, Event, Arena, and Challenge quests are all designed to put hunters in quests with specific goals in mind, as opposed to the quests that would see the primary object be to hunt a monster only. Event quests are limited-time DLC quests, where Challenge and Arena quests typically have shorter time limits and constraints during a hunt or fight.

Village and Rampage quests are unique to Monster Hunter Rise in that Village quests are solo-only quests that progress the story. The Rampage quests in Monster Hunter Rise are the signature quest type where players defend against waves of attacking monsters. Village quests have the same time limit as Hub quests, but because they are designed to be solo-only quests each monster has less total health. Fortunately, the same rewards for Village Quests are found in lower Hunter Rank Hub quests, allowing players to more easily get better armor and weapons for the Hub Quests.

The first types of quests players should consider starting in are the Village quests, solely because they progress the story and make it easier for players to obtain better weapons and armor. Training and Requests quests are also important to keep up on earlier in the game because they help players become familiar with the Monster Hunter Rise mechanics and reward players with newer items. For example, completing requests can unlock new prebattle Dongo meals in Monster Hunter Rise, which go a long way towards providing benefits for the next quest.

Completing Village quests first will also help players unlock new Switch Skills sooner, and the better weapons and armor obtained from them can help make the Hub quests easier as well. Once players have better weapons, they should consider completing Hub quests, even solo, to improve their Hunter Rank and unlock more Switch Skills. Arena and Rampage quests can be played based upon what any player needs to do or unlock, while Event and Challenge Quests should be completed once players reach the appropriate Hunter Rank in Monster Hunter Rise. High-level Event Quests can reward valuable items in Monster Hunter Rise like Golden Eggs, making them desirable quests to complete as armor and weapon prices continue to increase in Monster Hunter Rise.
