The Locked Treasure Chest is a Rarity-8 Other Material in Set's four pieces in Monster Hunter Rise requires at least one Locked Treasure Chest to be forged. However, since these chests cannot be obtained from hunt rewards, carving, or questing, Hunters might be confused about how they can acquire this rare material in Sunbreak.
To get Locked Treasure Chests in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Hunters must Order Items from the Argosy. The Argosy is a shop-like feature that presents Hunters with various trading options in exchange for Kamura Points. Moreover, players can also send their Buddies on Trade Requests, during which the Palicos or Palamutes will collect a specific ordered item and potentially bring back a host of other valuables as well. Players can interact with the Argosy by speaking with Rondine the Trader in the Buddy Plaza or Nagi the Buddy Agent in Elgado Outpost.
However, Locked Treasure Chests are not just obtained randomly from an Argosy Trade Request in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. Hunters must activate a specific mechanic known as Backroom Deals. When active, a small scroll icon will appear below a Buddy's head in the Trade Requests window. This mechanic allows the Buddy to return with Melding Pudding, MP Accelerant, or a Locked Treasure Chest.
Farming Locked Treasure Chests In Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak
Currently, there is no known knowledge about the Trade Request drop rate of the Locked Treasure Chests when Backroom Deals are active. However, Hunters are encouraged to use Bargaining Skills such as the Lv 40 Blinding Bargain, which grants Buddies a much higher chance to return with rare items. Nevertheless, the possibility is still randomized, so no Backroom Dealt Trade Request is guaranteed to yield a Locked Treasure Chest. Furthermore, bear in mind that Backroom Deals is a mechanic in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak that only becomes available after the Hunter reaches Master Rank 4.
